Silent indicators

So, just bought a C4 GP 2014 Exclusive Plus with 74k on the clock from a Citroen garage. Got a few issues I thought I'd ask about here before I went back to the garage.

First off is the indicators that work fine except for the fact that they make no sound at all when activated. Is there a setting for this or a simple fix?

Second is the right rear suspension makes a continuous, god awful squeaking noise when driving at any speed. I can live with the odd creak and rattle since it's not a new car but this is migraine inducing. Is this a known fault and would it be covered under the Citroen extended warranty that I took out?

Lastly is the ECO mode, which after lots of long drives to recharge the battery, never comes on. At best it flashes three times and then goes away without actually activating. I've driven my father in laws C4 and the stop/start feature works no problem. Is this likely a tired battery or alternator issue?

Here....I've just paid to a premier member but to be honest wished I saved my 12 quid as the lack of help/replies on people asking things isn't funny. I think I'm used quite quick moving forums and a lot of answers ect compared to here. There's a lot of info on how to do things yes but looking about at others asking this n that and either getting no answers or hardly any...

C4 '57 Picasso 'Stop! Engine Overheating'

Hi All,

I've read through a few posts on here about this issue but all were fixed by the same things I tried, but mine didn't get fixed!

I've changed the temperature sensor and replaced the fan control unit on the radiator housing, but still the fault persists, as in the fan wont come on at all and so the car overheats.

I've removed the connector from the temperature sensor and the fan bursts into life?!?!

I've had the air con checked and that came back with a leak (or so the mechanic said!), could this be the issue somehow?

Is there anything else I could try before I resort to taking the car to the garage?

Where is the ECU for the DPF on a 2007 Grand Picasso please?

Where is the ECU for the DPF on a 2007 Grand Picasso please? I wish to use some DPF cleaner and the recommendation is to squirt it down one of the hoses that connect to the ECU/pressure sensor.

I have seen a number of online videos that show the location for the 1.6 which is relatively easy and seems to be near the radiator. I have a suspicion that it is behind the battery tray area on the 2.0l and would appreciate some advice before I dismantle half the engine bay to discover it is not where I though it was.

C4GP 138HDi radiator fan low speed not functioning

Fan works Ok at maximum speed, but low speed (needed for aircon) does not. Relay unit and resistor seems to be Ok, but low speed actuator test with Lexia does not pull relay nor change inputs 3&4 (from ECU 1320).

I could not find HDi engine cooling wiring diagrams, but by following C4 petrol engine cooling wiring diagram seems PSF1 supplies +12V, and as said full speed actuates OK.

Looking previous owners receipts of repair, both fan and resistor/relay unit (1522) have been replaced.

Could wiring or ECU itself somehow been damaged? Or does engine fusebox have some relays?

Help enabling Aux in with Lexia

I have an 08 C4GP and have got Lexia - I'm running v7.02

It reads the VIN and asks for the RPO and that is all fine - I start Lexia and go to Diagnostics and then do a global scan and the following ECUs come up:

BSI, Fault Log and Injection.

From reading other threads I was expecting the Radio to come up in that list but it does not.

Am I looking in the right place or have I got this totally wrong?

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks, Simon.

Hello,

In Aug 2015, I purchased a new C4 Grand Picasso.
The car went for service today. I asked Citroen to look at two of the cigarette lighters as they do not work properly. They now say to fix them, they are NOT part of the warranty.
Is this true? The car is only two years old.

Any thoughts please?

Thank you.

We have recently picked up a 2008 C4 GP.

It's fairly decent apart from the broken boot handle and the front passenger seat is stuck all the way forward
You pull the handle and it sort of moves on the right side but not a lot on the left, I've stripped plastics on the left but I'm lost beyond this!

Looking for advice!

How to use climate control in a facelifted 2017 C4 Picasso

Hi,

Sorry if this seems a silly question and apologise in advance if this is obvious!

When using climate control, do I push on a/c and the Auto setting, or do I just push the Auto setting and a/c turns on automatically as required? The handbook is not clear and in fact shows the pre facelift control layout despite being the latest print version! Thanks for your help in advance!

As a side note, the climate controls in my old Mk 1 GP seemed to work by just pushing the Auto button.

Air conditioning and creaking suspension.

I had my Picasso booked in for repairs to creaking rear suspension and what appears to be total a/c cooling faiure tomorrow. Just received a call from the dealers who tell me that the ordered parts for the suspension are on back order, with no indication of when they will be available. Not over-worried about the delay on the suspension, but I don't know how long I could put up with no aircon! Will post agin as soon as I find out more about the suspension.

Strange crackling noise from dashboard and air con problem

Hello

I have a very strange noise coming from what sounds like the drivers side of the dashboard. It's hard to explain really but the best way to describe it is a plastic sounding crackling noise. It does it most of the time now and it started a few weeks ago. It usually occurs after a few miles of driving but its only present when the car is in motion, never when stationary. I have wondered if its the dashboard tweeter but it happens even when the radio is off. After looking on this site I've read about a heating control module...I've wondered if it could be that...? I do have a worn shock absorber or strut mounting and CV joint, could any noises from those resonate through into the car...?

Also my air con doesn't work. My mechanic who does a lot of work for me has had a quick look at it and reckons it just needs a re-gas. However he did say that when the air con is turned on there's no clicking noise which I understand could be the compressor..? I hope it's just a case of getting it re-gassed though.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Philip

How to turn off Pneumatic Suspension after changing to Springs

$

Hello, I have a 56 Plate C4 Grand Picasso 2.0HDI that had problems with it's pneumatic suspension. In January I bought a spring conversion kit but, due to time constraints, I had to have it fitted by a garage.
They didn't have the equipment to change the car's settings to stop getting the 'Suspension Faulty' warnings so I told them that I would do it.

I tried a lot of settings to no avail and then mortatube told me of this post: http://c4owners.org/plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?118866.270 When I tried to follow this, I found that my menu's were different but from it was able to stumble my way through to finally stop my warnings from popping up. So if that post didn't work for you, you may like to try this:

All that was changed on my car was the airbags were replaced with the springs along with their plastic/rubber fittings. All other pipework, pumps, ECU's, fuses, etc remain in situ. I did try unplugging my suspension ECU in my quest to stop the warnings but this made even more faults pop up related to the EBD/ABS system and, as I have Xenon's, the lighting system so I reconnected it.

There are a lot of menus in diagbox that look pneumatic suspension related but I put every setting as original and below is the only setting I needed to change. My suspension faults were clear when I made this change. If yours car has faults logged, it is probably best to clear them before changing the car's configuration. This is how I did it:

Without the engine running but with the iginition on, connect OBD lead to computer and open Diagbox.

After it has accepted your car, click 'Repair'

Highlight 'Built-in Systems Interface (BSI) and click green 'Tick'

Click 'Configuration'

Click 'Manual Configuration'

Click 'Vehicle Configuration'

Click 'Driving Assistance'

Highlight 'Presence of a rear ride height corrector unit (pneumatic suspension)' Click green 'Tick'

Click 'No'

Click 'Two Cogs Symbol' to save the updated configuration

Exit diagbox

Disconnect lead to computer.

The aforementioned post says you may have to reset the BSI as described here http://www.bba-reman.com/gb/content.aspx?content=citroen_bsi_body_control_failure I didn't need to do this but, if what I described didn't work for you, you may like to try doing that before giving up all hope.

I tested by loading the boot up with some heavy weights and bags of coal and when I closed the boot and open after opening and closing the drivers door, the compressor didn't attempt to pump which was a good sign and took it for a drive and got no warning. I did over 200 miles yesterday with 5 adults in the car and a boot full of stuff and, again, I had no pumping or suspension warning at any point.

I hope this works for you.
