Hi everybody

Apologies if this has been asked before, I did a search but could not find a solution

Seems the central locking button is very prone to flaking and loosing it colour, I wonder if anybody has done any stickers for it that could disguise the worn off paint underneath ?

Thanks

Carlos

My C4 Grand Picasso (07 - Diesel 1.6) will be stored for 2 months now, and then 4-6 months later on

I assume the battery will not last even the 2 months, am I correct ?

What should I do, do I need to disconnect the entire battery ? unfortunately I dont have the option to use a trickle charger

Hi guys, i have a recurring problem. The o/s/f brake disc keeps warping. I have replaced the caliper twice and the problem returns each time. Could there be another cause? A sticky brake balance valve or something like that? Any help gratefully received.

Timing belt area louder after timing belt change

Hi people,

I changed the timing belt on my 2010 1.4 (ET3j4) some three weeks ago. I used a febi bilstein kit with water pump and all pulleys (Part Nr. 32727) The car runs well. After a cold start (first 10 to 15 min of driving), when accelerating and the engine is under load, the timing belt noise (I can distinguish the sound) becomes louder in the lower rpms. After driving for 15 min it disappears, even on a restart after stopping (when the engine is already warm). I observed that when the car was standing in strong sun on a hot day, the noise didn't appear. So the noise disappears as soon as the engine gets a bit warm.

The tensioner position looks well and the timing belt too - no marks of rubbing or any damage on it.

In the timing belt kit was a dayco belt. The belt is coated and was very hard to put on because of how tight it was. The surface of the belt feels harder and smoother then the replaced belt.

Do you have any experience with such scenario?

C4GP Exclusive front seat back removal

Hi all I'm looking and fitting some tablets in the rear for my 2 boys and I want then to be placed inside the fold out tray area so are hidden when not in use. To do this I need to remove this whole part and can't find a guide anywhere. Found one fore removing standard seat back but not the one with the tray. I was also thinking about adding a usb port in this area running a feed from the existing 12v socket in the centre console. Could I take a feed from the small light in the back or would this not be enough amps/power ect

Breakdown insurance including Europe

I need 'stand alone' breakdown/recovery etc cover including Europe. Chris Knott do a decent UK deal (my wife has it) but will only do Europe if its bundled with insurance which I don't want.

Green Flag seems to be OK on price, c £75 for best UK cover and Europe with their online discount. I will need to watch the auto renew carefully. Reviews of them and all the providers are very mixed - love/hate. I guess with the insurers who use a "carefully selected network of independent repairers" it all depends who you get on the day. A day which hopefully will never come.

Any comments, suggestions, thoughts, good or bad experiences before I press the 'buy' button on green flag?

The AA are not in the mix - 3 years ago my aged father in law who had been in a nursing home for well over a year was auto renewed twice even after we had sent the forms back to say no. He was incapable of speech (stroke) they insisted on speaking only to him. Evidence, POA, etc etc sent but it took MONTHS to sort it out. Yes, its a grudge.

DS4 Door - Hidden Torx Screw - Plastic Plug Removal

Any tips on how to remove the small diameter plastic plug which conceals the Torx screw retaining the door handle switch assembly. Is it a matter of destroying it to gain access to the screw & then replacing with a new one ? I see that the plug is listed as a part (item 3 - Handle plug Part No. 9342 P7). Are these bought individually ? I ask because I can see no way of removal without damaging the plug. Thanks in advance.

2010 1.6 hdi dpf level low fault

$

Hi all

I've got the above car and I haven't any problems with it until now.

I got the dif level low light on start up, so I've refilled the pouch with universal pat fluid, and have taken it to a friend with a snapon diagnostic kit. He reset the counter on the eco, and tried to reset the counter on the control module for the dpf , but couldn't get a connection with it, so couldn't turn the start up warning off the dash. He suggested a visit to citroen.

Cue today, citroen couldn't reset the dpf light for the same reason. When asking the tech guy, he said basically there is a break in communications somewhere. He could get the pump running via the software so I'm guessing that physically the car is getting the fluid, and it is running fine, but the light annoys me and were looking at selling it, so it needs fixing by then.

So far I've located the 3 cables that run from the pump into the loom below the glove box. There doesn't appear to a separate control module behind the glove box as indicated by others. The cables don't touch the bis unit in the glove box. I see that they come from the carpet, to the big bundle that disappearsthrough the bulkhead. I'm yet to find these on the other side. I have checked all fuses in the car, have tried the manual reset process, have unplugged and plugged all connectors to bsi, edu and any other connector behind the glove box and in the engine bay fuse and ecu box. I've left the battery off overnight, and tried starting the car with the dpf pump unplugged and this has made no difference.

I don't know what to try next. I don't know where the cables will be heading to, I thought they would run to the control module, but they don't appear to.
Has anyone encountered a similar problem and managed to resolve it? I guess I need to check continuity with the 3 cables from end to end, but should i be looking at connections between ecu and bsi ? All other electrics work fine, so am lost now. Are there common electrical probes in this area, e.g. from windscreen scuttle? I notice after heavy rain substantial sloshing noise around the bottom of the screen, or is this clutching at straws?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

James

“squeaking“ sound whilst driving at slow speeds

I am getting a “squeaking“ sound whilst driving at slow speeds (15 -30) and stops when doing over 40. I stops when turning the wheel or if I put my foot on the break.
I thought it was something to do with my worn break pads but I have replaced both front Disc and Pads and its still there its seems to be with the rotation of the wheels hard to tell if it’s the front or rear
Any ideas??

The dipstick is the usual plastic ended stick flared at max and min. When you insert the stick it tends to stop a the green rubber band an inch from the top. Is this where the reading is taken or do you press in the extra inch so the stick is fully in.
