Trailer socket wiring for 2008 C4GP

Hi,

I picked up a secondhand towbar for my C4GP. The towbar is now fitted, so time to tackle the wiring. It came with a 52502502c trailer module as shown below.

Unfortunately I don't have any installation manual. I did some searching, but anything I found suggests that the connections need to be made in the fuse box in the glove compartment. However the length of the harness suggests that the connections in the donor car were being made behind the rear left quarter panel in the boot.

I'd prefer not to have to run wires to the glove compartment if possible, so I'm hoping someone will be able to tell me which wires I need to tap into in the rear left quarter panel.

As I understand it, I need an earth connection (this one is easy), a 12V supply, CAN connections, and two others which I don't know what they are. Can anyone help with this?

C4 Window problems

I have a 2009 1.6 VTR+ C4 Both rear windows dont work even when switches are pressed whether it be rear switch or drivers switch tho i can still hear the motor trying to work could this still be electrical problem. i know its not the fuse under the dash. thanks

Idiocy and broken touchscreens

Hi,

Just a bit of advice if possible. I managed to crack the touchscreen yesterday (stupidly lobbed a hard sunglasses case onto the front seat and missed) - it's a 2014 Grand Picasso with a B78 touch screen i believe. It's just the digitizer that is broken (lcd behind is still displaying properly) but obviously the screen itself will need to be replaced.

If I can get a new screen / head unit from the same model/year is it a straight case of swapping it out, or will it need to be recoded or anything by a dealer?

Side Sills rusting

Hi,

I am really suprised to see how much rust there is on my citroen c4 gp.

Both sides were like the first picture with bubbling underneath the paint and rust around the bubbles. I was going to do something about but was busy trying to looking into the other problems first so left it be.

Unfortunately.......i admit my own fault and stupidity....and a lesson learned that safety should always be first, when i took the front passenger wheel off to change abs sensor, i foolishly used the car jack instead of my trolley jack and stands (like i normally would do) as was short of time and thought it was a quick job. The car slipped off the jack and went straight through the very flimsy side sill.

So now i have been quoted around 200 to weld a repair path in and i will need to grind out the rest on both sills and paint (approx another 200)I can see someone has done a patch job on the other rear side door but used the wrong colour grey so will touch that up also.

Is there any drain channels etc that maybe blocked that maybe causing this. Its the worst car i have had for sill rust at this age....which i do not think can be normal....?



Any help/ advice greatly appreciated

Cruisecontrol en parking sensors not working

When i want to use CC i get the error Bleep and SERVICE on screen.

I already replaced the brake sensor and i red that the LIM 0 REG button on the steeringwheel also can give an error message so i scrolled hard trough the buttons but they seem to make good contact.

I plugged my car in the garage in the computer and the error message says there is something wrong in the wiring from the brake sensor.


And it also says there is a faulty cable on the inner rear right parking sensor.


Can anyone point me in the right direction on that to do now? Can i reach the rear parking sensor trough only dissasamble the small plastic rear pannel? Instead of removing the whole rear bumper.

Sorry for my bad english, im from the Netherlands.

C4 gp bleed the brakes without lexia caused handbrake stuck on and abs lights on

want to replace brake fluid it tested more than 4% water in
so started at rear then fronts all great until go the drive away alarm sounding display flashing handbrake fault and auto park light on abs and esp
car will not move
i turned engine off discounted battery didn't work
i used the hand crank to wind off handbrake
car drove ok turned engine off still no handbrake
apon restarting car all lights off
turn engine off handbrake works again wow panic over
so if all fails drive and may be it self rights for you as well but think i mite get lexia

Rear Passenger window only goes down a 1/3rd

Hi, any help would as always be gratefully received. I have a 59 GP, all 4 windows are electric as you know, but the rear passenger window only opens 1/3rd of the way. When closing, it goes up in small stages, so i have to use the 'up' button 3 times before it is fully closed. Is this normal, how do i fix it, is there a fix?

2014 C4 Picasso with over £1000 of work needed, not covered by Evans Halshaw warranty.

So against my better judgement and advise from my friends, I went ahead and purchased a used car from Evans Halshaw last September (2017). The car a 2014 C4 Picasso has been great until the nice weather appeared and we noticed the air con wasn't working. Evans Halshaw quoted £200 for a regas, which seemed a bit steep. Looking into the situation it has the new system in it (Expensive new system) So I bit the bullet and agreed for them to take it in and do the regas at the same time as investigating a clutch pedal that didn't always return to the same place. I'd read on here it may be a brake master cylinder as well as another few possibilities. So I get a phone call today to say that despite them doing a pressure test on the Aircon and saying it had no leaks, they now say the compressor is leaking (a £500 part) plus the £200 gas. The brake issue is a brake master cylinder@ £300 odd pounds and non of it is covered by the fantastic Evans Halshaw warranty. I've just filed a complaint with Evans Halshaw but I'm not exactly holding my breath. I'm livid.

Issue after service.

I took my C4GP in for MOT and service yesterday, so today I went on line and took out a Citroen extended warranty for £250. I then decided to paint my garden fence and my wife went off to the shops in the car. When she came back she told me that there had been an alarm and a message saying something like 'Engine fault. Get engine repaired'. It then came up with the infamous 'Depollution Fault' and the service light came on.

So I took the car out. On starting there was an audible alarm, and the engine management light came on and stayed on. Then whilst driving it came up with 'Urea level low', the urea light came on and the service light came on. So I thought, fill the Adblue tank. So I bought 10L. The tank capacity is ~17L but after only 7L the tank overflowed. The urea light is out, the service light is out, but I still get the alarm and engine management light on start-up.

So, as I have to take my daughter's C3 in tomorrow for new tyres after she hit a pothole, new lower suspension arm and a droplink on the other side, I can't get the C4GP in until Thursday.

So that is best part of a week gone, 3 whole days at the garage!

After firmware update alarm keeps triggerinf

Hi,

I've just updated the firmware in my 66 plate C4 Picasso flair from 21.05.90.42_NAC-r0 dd 2017-07-27 to 21.06.47.34_NAC-r0.

I had no issues with the update at all. Took 40 minutes but completed ok.

Now everytime I lock the car, 30 seconds later the alarm goes off. Have tried disabling the proximity detection, but it still triggers.

Never had a problem before the update.

Any ideas?

My C4 Picasso has developed a fault the ECO stop start system has stopped working and Service light on. I took my car to my local Citroen dealer with the above fault. To cut a long story short, they did lots of tests and checks even repairing two broken wires. Apparently it had a lot of strange codes that they couldn’t understand, they spoke to Citroen technical who suggested changing the capacitor and control unit costing over £900 in parts alone. But they couldn’t guarantee that it would cure the fault ! Has anybody had this problem and found a cure

C4 GP Brake pressure sensor permanent fault 2009 1.6HDI

Hi Guys. Few months ago my wife's car developed a fault. It said "parking brake fault" and "ESP ABS fault" as you drove off. I have scanned it with Diagbox and I get "brake sensor pressure fault". This is not the common brake SWITCH fault. Does anyone have any first hand experience with this please? Is there a fix short of sending the ABS modulator away for repair? I am not sure I do not have a separate switch, does anyone know this info? TIA, Leo

How do I remove the battery in my C4

Hi,

I have a C4 Picasso 2014 Airdream that has been sitting on my drive for the past 9 months - prior to that it was used every day and was running fine.

I am in the process of learning how to drive, and will hopefully be up and about in this car in July.

I needed to get something from the car a few months ago and discovered that the battery had gone flat. A friend came round with jump cables and we got her going again.

I've just gone back to the car, and the battery is flat again. Completely dead. Alarm doesn't even go off (which it did last time).

I want to remove the battery and stick in on charge. I have no idea how to do that though as it's not easily accessible. I've searched online already for advice, but can't find anyone direction or even an image for an engine that is the same as mine.

The rules are changing for MOTs.

A significant one is the one to do with emissions.

'Your vehicle will get a major fault if the MOT tester:

can see smoke of any colour coming from the exhaust
finds evidence that the DPF has been tampered with'

A major fault is essentially a fail. This will make a de-catted car unusable (and was already illegal) but it is now presumably inspected.

Brake lights stuck on

Hi all,
the old girl is on her way to being 13 December. I have a problem with the brake lights stuck on, on my coupe and not had chance to have a proper look yet.
Ive replaced the switch with no luck.
Has anyone had this problem? I dont really want to spend a fortune on her as shes pretty but not worth much.

Strange electrical issues

Took my car into the local dealership to have the rear axle filled with foam, heater blower issue and squeaking steering wheel.sorted. Axle is 90% better. Parked car at supermarket and came back to find the passenger window had opened most of the way down. Following day when I unlocked the car the fuel filler flap opened in front of me. Been OK for the past 24 hours - I wonder if they jet washed the car when they cleaned it and caused a fault ? Anyone else had theses problems ?

Flacelift DAB Radio Icons/Images

Before I go an have a try myself, has anyone managed to get all the radio (FM & DAB) station icons/logos installed? My dealership was untrained and rather incapable so my car came with only the CapitalRadio icon installed. How do I download all the other radio station icons?

[EDIT] It looks like the FM stations have logos but not the DAB stations. Is this just how it is, or is there a way to grab the DAB station logos?
