C4 gp cambelt recall

I had to ring citroen for a part the other day and only having the car since Jan I asked about any outstanding recalls and was informed it needed a cambelt kit so was happy it saved me some money but it only fits cars 75k to 100 k
My go is a 1.6 ehdi it's worth checking for though

Having now got to a point after 4 months of ongoing problems, where i am going to set fire to the car, it occurred to me to try just one more thing.... My Grand Picasso 1.6 petrol just boils up after a few miles.. initially we were told it was the thermostat, this subsequently was replaced, the problem continued.. new pump and actuator, new header tank cap (2 actually) all to no avail.. finally 3 days ago a new head gasket with all the problems (costs) that are involved with fitting one....... and it still boils up throwing all the coolant out of the header tank !! Now on examining the car i have noticed that it only seems to be the top of the radiator that get hot, the bottom hose is always cold, this would indicate to me a circulatory problem, that the thermostat is not opening allowing for the engine to cool, but after having it replaced you would assume that it was ok ? Is there a setting within management to dictate the operating temperature ? Can the thermostat be set open permanently ? The cooling circuit has been flushed countless times but am i missing something ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.. because i am totally soured now with Citroen...

2014 C4 Grand Picasso Exclusive + Tow Bar advice

I am looking to install a tow bar to my 2014 C4 GP Exclusive + car but i am unsure what the best option is.
Do i get someone to fit it professionally or is it possible to fit it myself?
I rang one company and they quoted me 700 euros to fit the Tow bar and said that i needed genuine wiring to fit the Tow bar.

Does anyone have experience of fitting the Tow Bar?

Hello all,

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. For the last 2 weeks my touch screen is non responsive and only displays the following message whenever the ignition is turned on:

Multimedia system temporarily unavailable

The buttons either side of the touch screen work but they have no functionality apart from changing the screen (radio / phone / air con etc).

Can anyone advise if there is anything I can do to fix this and get the touch screen working again or do I need to take it to a Citroen dealer?

Anti pollution system faulty - egr valve/mass air flow meter fault

Hello all, I have a 2009 C4 Grand Picasso which has had stored egr faults in the ecu for some time but has never displayed any engine light or error warning message and has always drove fine. Only knew because random check with obd reader. Recently a error message "anti pollution system faulty" has been intermittently coming up accompanied by the engine light, still no problem with how it drives but it now also has an airflow meter fault code. I clear all the faults with an obd reader and the warning appears with engine light intermittently mostly on hot days. The egr faults never caused any lights/messages etc but now with the airflow meter fault code it does. Does the anti pollution fault message refer to mass airflow meter or could the egr be causing all the problems? Just wondered if anyone has had a similar problem? The fault codes are as follows
P0401 - egr 'A' flow insufficient detected
P0409 - egr sensor 'A' circuit
P0104 - mass or volume airflow circuit intermittent
P1459 - unknown
P0490 - egr 'A' control circuit high
Any advise appreciated, maybe just a case of new egr or airflow or both? Thanks

Hi, my 2008 C4 Picasso 1.6HDI 110 (DV6TED4 engine)has recently developed an issue and I get the Depollution system faulty warning.

Reading the codes I get P0100 Flowmeter signal: Air flow not plausible and P0234 Turbocharger pressure signal: Pressure too high in relation to the reference value.

Most of the time its fine but after driving for around 30-40mins I start to lose top end power, like its lost boost. Before that, it's absolutely fine!

I am fully expecting to have to replace the Turbo but wondering if there is anything glaringly obvious that I am missing. Am wondering that as the turbo is fine initially then seems to back up after 30 mins or so, that I should be looking at EGR or even the DPF. No warnings about Eolys low etc.

Would be grateful if anyone has had the same experience and wants to pass on some knowledge.

I have a 2016(66) c4 grand picasso flair.ive had a message on the citroen app to download a touchscreen update.ive downloaded it onto my laptop then transfered to a memory stick but when i plug the stick into the car it recognises the stick is there but says cannotbe read.can anyone help please.

I have removed all torx screws, switch holder, handle surround etc. but am having difficulty disengaging the plugs which hold the full door card in place. Any schematics showing the exact locations of these plugs and if there are any more centrally placed (hidden)?. It is either held very tightly or I am missing something obvious. Any help most welcome. Again thank you in advance. I am now stuck !

Lexia/Diagbox on 2007 C4 for TPMS?

Well I finally got Lexia up & running.

Selecting the Lexia option, I was rather disappointed to see some backward menus and a limited choice of diagnostic options.

Nothing for configuration. This was more than disappointing, since task #1 was to disable the TPMS. That was always an irritant, with occasional warnings. Recently the warnings have become a major irritant, since the sensors are on my 17" wheels in the garage, not on the 16" wheels on the car.

Anyhow, after much experimentation, I selected Diagbox and found an accessories menu, with an option to turn off TPMS. After one test drive, it even appears to work !

Is this normal ? I keep reading about Lexia, but I had to pick the Diagbox option to get any joy.

The next task will be to try & reprogram the wipers, if that's possible. Having to switch the wipers on and off to stop the auto wipe is unbearable. I just need a simple flick wipe option.

right took the car to garage to day for a few new parts and oil change found out that the the threads on the sump are shot can the the threads be re tapped for bigger nut or can i put a longer nut in if there are some threads left in there sump is off my c4 2006 sx

Does anyone know if I can get reasonably priced replacement safety tools for the 2007 C4 Grand egs. Not had occasion to look for the brake release tool until now. Obviously I know they were there. Looked in the place under the floor and can't believe it. Chocks tool etc gone. Can only think they were taken last MOT. I ve looked online but can't find exactly what I need.

I will try to make this understandable despite my extreme displeasure. I have taken out AA European cover just about every year since 1990 and only had 2 minor claims in this time, both more than 10 years ago. We are going on a trip to Germany next Monday. Last Sunday, I was out in the C4GP and I had the engine management light, depollution light, urea light come on. This was the second time this happened, the first time was 16th May, and Citroen did a software update and presumably cleared the faults. It was then OK until the problem on the 27th May. As Monday was a Bank Holiday, I couldn't take the car in until Tuesday 29th.

On Tuesday I was told that they thought that it was an issue with the Adblue system, but they would need to get some tools sent from another branch. This was due Wednesday morning. I phoned on Wednesday and eventually spoke to someone about 3 o'clock. I was told that the tools had just arrived; they were late because the van driver had phoned in sick, and they had had to send someone to fetch it. Today I have been trying to get in touch, and eventually heard about 3.15 that it needs a new Adblue tank, and they will probably not be able to get one to fit tomorrow. This means in all probability that the car will not be available for our departure on Monday morning.

No problem, I thought. I have paid for a policy which will give me a hire car. But no! First I was told that I had to have actually broken down on the roadside and had to be rescued by the AA. So I had to get transferred to another operator to change to our C3 (my wife doesn't want to go in it, but it is Hobson's Choice). He told me that I was eligible for a hire car but only if the car had become unusable within 7 days of departure. Guess what! It was 8 days!

So, because of a Bank Holiday and a driver off sick, I can't use my comfortable car for my trip.

Sorry about the rant, but writing this has calmed me down a little!

UPDATE: Just spoken to the service manager. The tank has been ordered, and he will ensure that it is fitted tomorrow morning, So it looks like it may be OK. Still not happy about the AA!

And a further thought. I told them that when the Urea light first came on, that it had only used 7L in 14000 miles, indicating a problem with the Adblue system. So why did I have the cooling parameters updated and apparently no investigation of the Adblue system?

C4 Picasso 2007 1.6 HDi Injector solenoid

Removed with great difficulty No4 Injector and that damned Cu washer - gummed up - cleaned up all parts only to find out that the Injector solenoid is almost open cct 14k ohms -

Q1 - is it possible to replace the solenoid ( if you can get hold of one) I'm thinking if so the calibration will stay intact !!??

Q2 - by just replacing one injector does this upset the overall balance of the diesel fuel system cos that is my thinking of trying just to replace the solenoid

Note - I have ordered an Inj leak-off test kit to give me a reasonable idea that the injectors are mmmmmm some-way balanced

I would be grateful if someone could point me to the purchase of the solenoid

Got my 2010 c4Gp 1.6hdi serviced today with an independent mechanic. He suggested I should think about getting the belt and pullies done. Said the car has a belt as well as the chain. Car is 8 years old with just shy of 100,000 miles. I hadn’t intended on doing it for another 2 years. Any opinions ?

Engine warning saying engine is hot

Hi everyone. Could someone help me please... my 2005 c4 has over the last few days developed a fault with the fan running for approx 4 minutes after the engine has been switched off. This is only on short journeys. Today I got a warning come on saying engine is hot turn engine off. Any idea what could be causing this? Thanks.

Got 2014 C4 GrandPicasso and all warning lights have come on only fault found was osr abs sensor which was replaced and also replaced battery but all light still on ..car is still driveable anyone came across this before?

C4GP ECO flashing

Hi guys n gals.

We have a 2012 C4GP exclusive 2.6 turbo diesel.

On start up I get a message on the dash saying ENGINE FAULT NEEDS REPAIR, at the same time the ECO button flashes 7 times and stays on, the display reads ECO DEACTIVATED, and the service light stays on throughout.

This is a bit annoying considering we only got the car back a few days ago from Quest Citroen in Braintree after having 4 new injectors fitted.

any assistance would be appreciated

My tensioner seems to be noise and bouncing quite a bit so brought a new one just wondering if its an easy job on the drive to do any help would be good
