NEW AIR Filter *** Before 56.4mpg NOW 61.3mpg***

Citroen C4GP 1.6 e-HDi (115)- 2015

Awesome day. Now normally I wouldn't post on such matters.... as I know all driving styles, situations, roads, weather conditions, fuel quality blah blah blah change between countries.

However this was too good too keep to myself and I felt a tugging inside my chest to share it with the forum....

I changed my Air Filter in the above car to a K&N Air Filter Part Number 33-2975 (( I had a C4GP Old Shape for 6 Years and Used a K&N Filter for 5 Years without 1 Problem )). So I thought I would see if I could do the same to my New version and find the sweet spot in acceleration that was missing slightly.

Not Only did ''The Dead Spot disappear'' I Noticed a Huge difference in MPG...and I mean Huge. Same driver, Same car, same roads...And almost 5mpg difference. (( Photos Below))

Now, not only was this a huge surprise, but even bigger and please believe me on this....the Added MPG was during TOWN/CITY Driving...NO Motorway driving at ALL. (( We have taken some time off travelling and so have been driving only in town for the second Photo 1191 Miles Covered (( I RESET THIS PHOTO TRIP SIMPLY TO TEST AND SHOW THE DIFFERENCE - IT SURPRISED ME A LOT ))and an average speed of 21 MPH and *** 61.3 mpg (( as you can see that's City Driving ))

My First C4GP with a K&N filter added possibly 2mpg difference!!. So For anyone interested and feel so inclined, then I dont think you will be dissapointed.

Before you ask, NO I do not work for them, and No I will not send you to the site i bought mine from... Ready available in google search...

Enjoy and keep up the awesome work Admins.

Auto headlights not switching off quickly?

I have my 2015 C4 GP Exclusive+ set for auto headlights, but on several occasions they have not switched off when I expect them to.

This morning I filled up my car at a filling station which was under a canopy. I started my car and the headlights came on. I drove off, but about half a mile down the road noticed they had not switched off, and it was in bright sunshine.

I had to turn the lights off manually. Is this normal?

HI all,

I've just recently bought a 2008 C4 1.6HDi VTR+. There is no service history or book with the car. I was just wanting to know what all should I need or wanting to get done to it when I leave it in for a service? The car has just turned 60000.

It also says for the belt 10 years or I think it was 120000? seems a bit much or will I be ok for another year at least?

Thanks in advance.

HELP £11,500 REPAIR BILL

Hi I am in desperate need of some advise. A few weeks ago my 2011 1.6 DS4 developed a eltronic handbrake failure so would only apply/release by manually pressing the button. This did happen a year ago but I bought a new switch for it which cured it so I thought no more of it. Last week however all manor of warning lights appeared. - ABS FAULT, STABILITY CONTROL, ETC AND BRAKING SYSTEM FAULT light appeard on the centre dash screen. I took it into Citroen Coventry who after investigating it told me it needed new injectors and abs sensor coming in at £2k. The called Citroen UK who agreed to pay for the parts. However this didnt fix the problem, and further investigation found that the abs hydraulic block was full of water which had caused major damage to the main wiring harness and repair cost was £11,500!! Obviously the car is worth under 6K with 30,000K on the clock.

Has anyone heard of this issue before and can anyone one advise of any options I have. i.e. will insurance pay??

I have asked the dealership to go back to Citroen UK to see what they can do but I dont hold much hope. I bought it from Citroen Coventry and have only done 15,000 miles in it since I bought it 4 1/2 years ago.

Hope someone can help....

2014 C4 GP. Right hand drive

Is the round volume knob (left of the smaller touchscreen) suppose to illuminate when headlights on. Also what about the headlight height level switch on the far right of the dash.

Dealer is fixing all faults on it at his cost on monday, so want to get these fixed if they are supposed to light up.

Many thanks

Driver's offsite windows switch issue

Hi guys
I have a problem with couple of window switches on drivers offsite. Can't control every time the read left window and driver's windows not always close or open automatic after continuous press of the switch. Some times if I "jingle" the switches then they work and the read window works fine from it's own switch. I think that the contacts inside the switch are corroded and need to be cleaned as a first approach to solve the issue because the hole switch assy is little expensive. If I buy a used one it mite be worse that the one I have now.
Has anyone tried to remove and disassemble the switch assy to clean the contacts of the switches?
Thank you

16' to replace 17's

Hi everyone, I've got a 5 door c4 with standard 17x6.5 26et with 205/50/17 tyres and I'm looking to replace these with some 3SDM 0.05 wheels in 16x8 25et, to make the rolling radius the same I need to run 205/55/16 or something similar, was just wondering if an 8 inch wide wheel would even fit, if those tyres are stretched too much, what the ride comfort and roll would be or any other relevant information linked to this set up? Any opinion or info would be greatly appreciated thanks

eHDI EGS Clutch Slipping

$

I'm sure this has been done before, but I can't see any reference to the B7 C4 model.

So, a few months ago I had 4 people in the car and noticed the clutch was slipping slightly in 3/4/5th gears especially on m/way slip roads. It then kinda went away (especially with only me in the car) but after having the car sit for 10 days whilst on holiday, I have noticed a slip creeping back in but again it appears to be intermittant. It's most noticeable in 2/3/4th gears. In addition, I have noticed that there is (only intermittently) a complete loss of drive between 2nd and 3rd gears! It's almost as if I was in a manual car, let off the throttle, changed gear, and then delayed engaging the drive by being slow on raising the clutch! I have stuck it in 'manual', selected 3rd or 4th gear and gone up a hill but it didn't appear to slip...

The car is only 3 years and 5 months old with 62,000 miles and a full service hist. 80% of my driving is long journeys on motorways. I'm most afraid that the DMF/clutch assembly is faulty and it may cost £££££'s. However, I have seen posts about getting the gear box re synchronised...

Anyone got any 'positive' thoughts about what's going on here?

Many thanks

Hi from newbie and potential new C4 grand Picasso buyer

Hi
I previously owned a Xsara picasso which I used to taxi. It was the longest I ever owned car and thought it was great all rounder. It's was an 1.6 hdi exclusive. Thinking off going back to taxi'n and considering a 2.0hdi C4 Grand Picasso. Is there anything I need to look out for or tips on buying one. It'll possibly be around 07-09. Now the ones I've seen have around 105k -130k miles and some have the semi-auto gearbox. One guy told me the manufacturers recommend a timing belt at 160k miles. Seems high to me but that's why I'm checking here.
All your tips and pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

EGS gearbox and clutch

Earlier this week a diagnostics test was ran on my (new to me) unwell C4GP which had gearbox problems.

Lexia session was ran - no major problems..... except the gearbox
It showed three faults:
P1800 Gearbox initialisation incomplete or not performed. Status - Temporary
P0949 Clutch initialisation incomplete or not performed. Status - Temporary
P1705 Gearbox input speed signal fault

The gearbox gate learning routine was ran - and all passed well and properly and all the actuators selected the gears properly, then it went onto clutch biting point learning routine - and that's where it failed. I ran the routines twice and both times the result was the same - each time it went to do the clutch biting point, there was a nasty clattering noise for between one and two seconds, then it reported a failure. It basically sounds like it was trying to work a clutch where the middle had been pulled out of the friction plate or there were loose bits attached to the clutch being whirled around - not a loud shuddering noise, just a clattering. We tried to move the car under its own power, and whilst the gears engage, no drive to the wheels is present. I had a look under the bonnet, but it was too cramped to be able to see much. It doesn't look like the gearbox has been off before, but there did seem to be a bit of metalflake dust near the starter/bellhousing area.
I can see how fault P1705 could be caused by a non functioning clutch.

What does the panel think - new clutch needed ? Any known faults with the clutch on these ?

The car goes straight into economy mode when you switch on the ignition, but I'm doubtful that even a BSI reset or fresh charge of the battery will make the clutch sound better
It's a 2007 DW10BTED4 2.0hdi with EGS 6 speed MCD gearbox, approx 66k miles shown.

Any thoughts, please ?

Edit: could a complete failure of the DMF cause the above symptoms ?

Hi I have had a c4 p 1.6hdi vtr egs for about 3 months, it has 45 k miles on clock. It is a pleasure to drive all except when in traffic in 2nd gear auto and speeds at around 8 mph. If the traffic clears it shudders and almost stalls. It seems it is reluctant to change down until 7 mph. I therefore am having to manually flip to 1 St. Not a big problem but via lexia or other methods can i limit the change down speed to 9 or 10 mph. Apologies if this as been asked before. Thanks in advance for any response

C4GP Exclusive - Panoramic Blind - Sagging

$

Hi,

This is my first post here, but I have just bought a C4GP Exclusive on an 07 plate, with 59,000 miles on it, FCSH and in pretty good nick. However there are one or two niggles, as follows:

Panoramic Sunroof blind does not go back into the recess, it just sags down.. The front part moves, but the back seems stuck, or something. Its not rolling round the spindle. Is there a motor there that could have blown a fuse maybe?

Secondly, the drivers armrest has snapped off, where the previous owners daughter had used it for a foothold to climb in the back. Can this be replaced at a reasonable cost? I know Citroen want a silly amount of money for this part, so assume that this has happened to others.

Many thanks for any help in advance.

Sorry to parachute in being new to site but as the song says...please please help me!
Problem started last week on way to work, every fault in the book became apparent. including Gearbox Fault, Abs, seatbelt pretensioner, handbrake, plus a few others I can't remember. Gearbox went into limp-home mode and handbrake doesn't work any more.
has been tried on various diagnostic programmes, including the AA's own and although all faults are showing up on the screen they won't reset.
Never seen anything like this and have searched the forum and not come up with similar....a new one on me!
Thinking main ECU?

C4 towbar electrical question

$

Hi all

so, I have had a good look through the forums, and tried a number of searches, which have been insightful, but not completely answering my questions.

so, I got a towbar and electrics from a scrap yard for £30. towbar is fitted, no issues. going to start the electrics this week. unit I got from the scrappy was wired in, so I know the connection. one side all goes to the towbar socket, no problem. the other side wires go to the car, and I cut it out with some of the car loom attached, so I have the wire colours for reference.

the main power feed used the grey/white wire that is present in the boot (I think something to do with the official Citroen wiring?) so, this wire is present in my boot, so can be used.
however, it seems it goes towards the passenger fusebox in the car, yet is not connected there. this is where I cannot find an answer.
where does this wire go? what do I need to connect to it, or connect it to, to make it a permanent live for the towbar?

once I know this, I can have a crack at wiring it in.

all help will be appreciated

Audio warnings approaching Speed Cameras & Risk Areas

$

I am a newbie and have a Citroen Grand C4 Picasso 2.0 2015 with the 7” touchscreen, I have downloaded the CITROËN RISK AREAS & the SPEED CAMERA DATABASE successfully (pinpoints sites of fixed speed cameras). I can see the new icons on the maps but cant get the audio warnings which according to the “how to download the additional software installation notes” are supposed to be available to notify me that I am approaching the camera etc. (I am in the UK). Citroen dealer says phone “Here” customer service who provided the software but they say contact the Citroen dealer !!!!!

I have played with numerous settings in the 7’ display for audio & alerts going back and forward past speed camera but to no avail – any ideas please? Thanks

One other request - how do I get the display to let me know estimated time of arrival, distance etc?

FINAL ADDITION !! AND UPGRADE C4GP

Ok Guys so here it is....the final Addition to my Edition of the C4 Grand Picasso.

The 3D LED Lights were a nice upgrade and I am very pleased aesthetically beautiful and so much better than the standard lights which quite frankly were [%*^#@!] awful.

The AIR Filter WORKS and DOES what it says on the TIN...Happy DAYS

Now for the Alloy Wheels which were the basic standard ones fitted and look.....WELL Plain JANE for my tastes especially with so much on offer out there now with colour match and beauty in metal all over the web soooo the hunt began.....

And Finally I found a colour match and at a price that was a lot less than a set of 4 x tyres and the difference ...well ...see for yourself....Me thinks that they suit and compliment the Futuristic Smooth looks of the C4GP well....

Total cost of updates.... £570.00 (including fitting and balancing of the Alloy Wheels and swopping tyres, 3D LED Lights from Well Know Auction House , AND Air Filter) And as for the Fun Factor.....PRICELESS...!!!
(( Still Got To Factor in the selling of my OLD Lights and Wheels which are MINT CONDITION and OEM...So possibly a BARGAIN UPGRADE PACKAGE)))

Last Purchase as the wife is getting a little nervous....
