Hi all, I've had a Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 1.6 Petrol 120 VTI (2010) for a couple of years now, and was giving us error free driving for about 20 months (we put 15,000km on the car since buying). The past couple of months, we've had continual P1339 errors appearing, and the car stutters (misfiring) and the fan kicks in permanently and runs for about 10-15 minutes after the car is switched off.
I've read numerous posts on this forum, and on the internet about this error, and there seems to be many things that could possibly be wrong.
We have taken the car to our local Citroen Main Dealer (it has full Citroen main dealer history, and has been serviced regularly) to check it out, and they've swapped out the Injector Coil (first, only cylinder 3, but then all of them in an attempt to resolve the issue). The car has been into the main dealer 4 times now for the same fault, and we're no closer to getting the issue resolved, and at this point have lost all confidence in driving the car at all (we drive regularly from Maastricht in Netherlands to Norfolk in UK).
I'm going to give the garage one last try to see if they can fix the issue before we take drastic measures of scrapping/we buy any car etc) and getting something else.
What other things have people seen, or could I suggest the guys in the garage look at?
1. Injector Coils have been replaced (initially only 1, but then all 4).
2. Spark Plugs have been replaced (unsure of type, have seen Bosch recommended?)
3. ECU was updated
I have read that this appears quite common on this BMW/PSA 1.6 VTI Engine, and the following have been suggested;
1. Lambda/O2 sensor
2. Fuel Pump
3. Fuel Filter
4. Engine Mounts unstable/worn
5. Camshaft sensor (this admittedly from a BMW forum on this engine type).
Thanks in advance for any help that could be shed on the issue..
Adrian.
