1.6 HDi cutting out and lots of errors.

08 Grande Picasso.

I've had an error popup saying De-pollution system fault and the car then chugging to a stop.

It's had a new fuel filter and the faults cleared and they couldn't make the happen again. It's happened again the day I've collected it.

The garage has said they'd look at replacing the fuel pressure sensor next but it's a big job and no guarantee it'll fix the issue(s).

They've given me a printout of the computer readings.

P0483 - Cooling Function Integrated into the ECU (fan unit) Open Circuit or temperature too high - Intermittent

U0103 - Gearbox ECU data transmission error on the CAN (automatic gearbox / sequential gearbox) - Intermittent

U0122 - CAN communications No communications with the ESP - Intermittent

U1118 - CAN communications Engine ECU - Intermittent

U1000 - CAN communications No communication with the ABS ECU - Intermittent

P0500 - Vehicle speed signal Vehicle speed or feedback invalid - Intermittent

P0192 - Diesel pressure signal Short circuit to earth or value too low - Intermittent

The P0192 error they have highlighted.

I'm wondering with all these other errors if it's a wiring issue? Are there any common faults related to these issues? I'm hesitant to keep trying swapping parts until the right one is found and maybe I'd be better with an auto electrician instead?

The wife wants to get rid of the car but I really want to get it to 100k, with 9k to go.

Every time I turn off the engine (C4P, 1.6hdi) the car emits a series of four beeps, three times?

The car drives ok so whats the story behond the beeps!

Oil feed return and feed pipe leaking C4 Grand Picasso 2009

Changed the oil return pipe gasket today and replaced it with a genuine citroen gasket and it is still leaking from the the same place as the old gasket have I done something wrong with it also I've put the oil feed pipe back on and it is leaking from the top union where the pipe goes in and out it never did when I took it off is it a new pipe replace cheers

C4 gearbox faulty

Hello everybody.

I have a C4 1.6HDi with a EGS gearbox. It worked fine until a week ago.
Each morning, before start, the gearbox didn't work until the engine warmed up (Service light on) and after that worked fine, service light off.

This morning I forgot my gear in AUTO(A), and the car can't start.
I just need to start it, so I can get it to a Citroen garage.

C4GP2 Steering wheel and control stalks failure

My 2014 C4 GP B78 2L 60,000 kilometers Diesel Auto exclusive+ has stopped listening to all controls on the steering wheel and the indicator/lights/wiper stalks. Dash showing direction headlamp error and collision risk detection fault. Radio worked when it first occurred but currently no sound available on starting, (radio, indicator etc), which had happened a couple of times before and seemed to happen when I poked the screen before boot-up finished.


I also have the urea warning staying on after being refilled. It did register a change from 11,000k to 15,000k on being filled to the brim with an extra litre or so.
Apart from all that it's a great car!

Newbie here, Just picked up a 2008 C4 Picasso which is currently having its timing belt changed. But I was wondering from the wealth of knowledge on here if there were any routine maintenance or checks owners did apart from the usual oil change every 6,000 and other filter changes?

I've got a 2011 2.0 HDI, the timing belt will be needing done in the near future. Is there a kit supplied for the timing belt change, as in tensioner, rollers, water pump?


Are tehre any special locking tools needed for the diesel? or can you make do like a 16v petrol engine?

Hello All. I have just bought a 2010 Grand Picasso.
Its got a very slow change from first to second then progressively faster changes upward.
I want to change the transmission fluid. Easily found the drain plug. Where is the filler cap or plug?

2014 C4 Picasso alarm fault

Hi, my C4 alarm has the following problem.

If you lock the car the indicator lights dont come on to show the alarm is setting and after 30 seconds the alarm goes off.

If you lock the car then unlock the car immediately the car locks itself after 30 seconds but the alarm is disabled.

Any ideas to what is the problem, I have disconnected the battery to see if that cured it but no.

Hi all, car seems to have recently started having an issue starting when the engine has been warm. It doesn't turn over or anything i just get the battery icon go off and a click when turning the key. After a few tries it will start though, only seems to happen once the engine is warm. Will always start first time when cold

Hello everyone,

On Sunday whilst driving on the M1 my car threw a massive wobbler and lost all power, went into limp mode and showed ASR/ESP fault with the engine light illuminated, running like a bag of nails too. Obviously first concern was to get off safely and home.

Car went to dealer on Monday which diagnosed an injector fault requiring replacement which along with associated parts comes to the grand total of £1337.00!! The tech. said that because of the fault code displayed (P2062) that Citroen might contribute something, which they have (paying for parts).Guess which part of the bill is greatest!!

Given that there wasn't any warning that this was going to occur I mentioned that if this one component is faulty then its is likely that the other three will turn up their toes in sympathy and might be a good idea to change them all but I've not had a response from Citroen UK

The car is not yet 6 yrs old was purchased new and has only done 20000 miles, it's also been serviced by same main dealer from new, we've been really happy with it until now and don't really want to change but when used it's for long journeys often on motorway or rural roads.

Any thoughts on a possible way forward greatfully recieved

DS4 Rough Idle when starting + EGR error code in Fault Codes

I have been experiencing my DS4 idling rough when I start it on a warm day.
it sounds like it is running on 3 cylinders.

After a while it runs fine.

I hocked up my car to a diagbox and it came up with lots of errors codes, after clearing them it bought up the error below.
Looking through the log, it looks like it had the same error at 6km (when the car was new)

Do I need to replace/clean the EGR or somewhere I read this rough idle is related to a software issue?
Someone else mentioned I need to change my glow plugs, so currently confused what to do? Any help greatly appreciated.

Buying C4 Tomorrow but Mechanic found dozens of fault Codes and said not to worry (Photos)

Hi, I am buying a 2013 C4 Picasso (B78) tomorrow and have had it inspected today (see photos). The mechanic found numerous fault codes but said not to worry. He thinks they are mostly historical and maybe after a flat battery. Some of them are intermittent, some temporary, some permanent and some current.
The check engine light is not on.
I thought that temporary issues cleared after a couple of trips?
Are these all the faults that the car has experienced since new?
Should I get them all cleared and see what comes back?
Should I not buy the car?

Keyless Entry never worked since I bought the car.

Hi there, it is a while since I have posted (because the car has run so well)!

I own a C4 Picasso Exclusive 65 plate and when I bought the car I just opened and locked it with the buttons on the fob as this is what I have always been used to. When I started the car I put the key fob in the entry dock, press the start button and off I go.

However I took it in for its service today and got a hire car from Evans Halshaw (Citroen Aircross)and the key less entry worked and it had no fob dock and I just pressed the button and off I went.

Since I bought my car (second hand from Evans Halshaw back in 2017) the remote keyless entry has never worked but I guess it has never been a big deal to me as I have mentioned above. However should I be concerned ? is there an option in the driver options system to reset it, as it would be nice to have a go with keyless entry.

In addition the Eco start has never activated once since I had the car either. When I stop it flashes on the dashboard and then goes out. I suspect it is because I only do about 3,500 miles a year, mostly on shorter trips and the battery is never charged enough to stop and start the engine.

Neither of these things are major worries to me but I just wondered if I am missing out on something, at the end of the day if you buy a car with these features then I guess they should work !!

Any thoughts or fixes would be appreciated.

Afternoon all, recently bought a 2014 1.6 hdi C4 Picasso exclusive that has been classed as a cat n. Anyway whenever I try to operate the cruise control it just flashes saying its paused, I have plugged in the diagbox today and have 3 codes that are

B120A : Collision risk alert function fault Characterisation : Detection of an impact Status : present Location : local Variables associated with the fault

B1209 : Distance alert function or adapted cruise control function information fault Characterisation : coherence fault Status : Temporary Location : local Variables associated with the fault

B121D : Built-in systems interface internal fault for the adapted cruise control (ACC) Characterisation : Receipt of the impact information impossible Status : present Location : local Variables associated with the fault

I have tried to clear the codes but keep coming straight back. I am assuming this all relates to the previous accident which was shown to me as being both drivers side doors, but has me thinking it might of been more then what was in the picture.
Does anyone have any idea of a possible fix?

Here is a brand new unused full size steel spare wheel, with tyre, for a Citroen C4 Hatchback 1.6 Hdi. (2013). The rim and tyre are in new condition.
The wheel fits into the spare wheel bay under the false floor.
I have recently changed my C4 to a Citroen Cactus so the wheel is no longer needed.
I am prepared to do a meet to save shipping charges. I am in he Manchester area.
I am looking for £75.00 ovno.
I can email photos of the wheel and tyre but can’t seem to find the “file attach” button to display the images here unfortunately.

Headlight washers

Evening all

I have a 2008 C4 Picasso Lounge 2.0HDi and my headlight washers aren't working. I have checked the fuse and that's ok and been advised to swap the cables over as the windscreen washers work fine. Do I need to remove the under panel or can this be done from the engine bay?
