2016 Grand C4 Exclusive- How many fobs?

$

Hi everyone!

I'm just back from the dealership where I bought a 2016 Grand C4 Exclusive. It came with two keyless fobs. One of them has the emergency blade which can be used to manually open the car but the other doesn't!

Is this expected? It looks very strange as the shape of the back of the blade sort of completes the look of the key so it stands out very obviously that there's something missing.

When you bought your Grand C4s new, did they come with one or two fobs? And if it came with two, did both have the emergency blade on the back?

Thanks in advance!

Hello, this is my first post on here. I need a new bumper on my 2012 C4GP. It’s the one with DRLs. I’m having trouble finding one. I see loads of C4P ones which look identical. Are they the same? Also are the bonnets the same?

Thanks.

Hello,
My car stopped on the road abruptly today morning and did not start even after jump starting. Had to be towed to the garage. Not sure what is the issue. It stared OK in the morning at home and suddenly switched off on the road which is very strange. Any leads suggestion please let me know. I will update the thread once I have the details from garage.

Thanks.

2013 Citroen C4 1.6 Vti overheating with no warning lights going on

Good Evening,

I bought a pre owned 2013 Citroen C4 1.6 VTi on 29 March with just under 87 000km on the clock. (The vehicle was serviced on 86 500.) I drove about 450km to get home and the car ran like a dream all the way. On the 30th I did a small trip again of about 60km and the car was fine again.

My wife and I decided to take a longer road trip, but only about 5km into it the car gave a "Engine Fault: Repair needed" warning and the engine light came on. I went back home. Opened the bonnet and the car was extremely warm, the water in the water tank was boiling and filling back up from the radiotors side (All the way to the top, far past the max level) . I checked the oil as well and it was a bit low so I topped it up and let the car cool down.

About 45min later when I checked the water tank it was just above the minimum amount so I filled it back up(I checked but there were no leaks) . I started the car and the warning came up again with the engine light still on, I took it for a short drive and when I stopped at a garage and checked under the hood the water was boiling again and filling up the water tank from the radiotors side again. I got no overheat or temprature warning on the inside, nor was the fan running even though the water was boiling and the car does not have a heat gauge on the inside. The "Engine Fault: Repair needed" warning still comes up and the engine light stays on, so the car is parked and I am not using it now.

My knowledge of cars are very limited, any idea what might be going on? Thank you for your time.

Airbag fault / low speed driving

I just bought a second hand Grand Picasso 65 plate and already having an issue with the Airbag or Pretensioner fault. After reading other threads I thoroughly checked wiring and connections under the seats - no issues there. After a longer drive today I've worked out it mostly flashes up when turning corners at lower speed e.g. around town, right turns more than lefts.

The airbag light tends to come on for a few seconds or sometimes a couple of minutes. It seems to be getting worse and very annoying.

Anyone else had this issue or have any ideas?

Coolant level goes low but NO sign of any leak

Hello

A couple of days ago, in the evening since I could not see it clearly how much coolant level is there, I decided to open the cap to check the coolant level. At this time the engine was cold, turned off for over 20 hours and the car was parked on a flat surface.

There was still some pressure and all of a sudden the coolant level which was close to the "MIN" mark started to rise and came to just over "MAX" mark. I was not sure what had happened. Why did it move from MIN to MAX level mark?

Yesterday I was about to set off for another long drive and checked that there was NO coolant in the tank. When I opened the cap to top it up, there was a pressure build up and heard the sound as the car was trying to do gargles. Still no sign of any coolant, so I topped it up to the MAX level.

This afternoon I checked it again and it was below the MIN mark again (on a cold engine) and there is NO sign of any leakage. My driveway is all clear, the engine is all nice and clear, the car produces heat in few mins as usual and there is no other sign or warning.

Before that, it was always fine. The coolant stays at the MAX level all the time. I do check this almost every week/fortnight and never seen the coolant level is low.

I have now topped it up again and let's see what happens to it tomorrow.

Can someone please shed some light on this what is happening? Why the car has started to lose the coolant level all of a sudden since after opening it the very first time a few days ago.

Thanks in advance.

C4 Picasso Electronic gear box failing to select / Gearbox faulty

Hi

Woke by Mrs at 5 am as the Grand Picasso was reversing off the drive and then dropped out of gear and wouldn't select.

Pushed to drive and started to look, to which the faults 2562 03/03, 2562 01/03 and 2299 02/03 had been cleared

The car started again, and selecting gears if rolled from N to R and A1 and M and all worked until tried to reverse again and there was a delay in the power take up as the car rolled forward on the drive then the bite came

I've done the usual google and stripped the passenger wheel arch out to investigate the actuator pipe being suspect, but there is fluid in this and no apparent leakage, to which I'm now sat at the beginning of the learning curve of what to test where when and how to check if these parts are ok.

its a 2007 1.6HDi with 86K on the clock and everything at first glace looks ok, to which is there a FAQ or can some one throw my a line on this so i can get the car moving again.

The only thing I can hear is when it's fired up, when it's shut down again there is a distinct 'click' but apart from that it fires up, can be selected once then it throws a gearbox faulty error then goes into N again. Leave it again and it will do the same again. as its on a hill drive getting it level and on the road is the thing I'm after (or a flow check to what is poss faulty and how to check).

All help appreciated.

Hi everyone, I recently bought a 2016 C4 Grand Picasso and here the thing, the driver's side mirror heating and turn signal aren't working. There's no voltage at the mirror LED. Triple checked all the fuses they all seem to be fine. I'm out of ideas at this point. Could someone give some insight on the problem.

Rear Suspension Pneumatic Air-Damper Removal - HELP!!!

Hi,

all the hard work is done, I have the pneumatic damper in my hand, but still attached to the car via the compressor hose!!!!

Anyone know how this is connected please?

I've pulled it as hard as I dare, I'm reluctant to use pliers on it but it just won't let go!

The funny thing is it will push in slightly, so there is some movement in there.

They were replaced around 5 years ago by Citreon, would they have glued them in place maybe?

Any help greatly appreciated,

Mike.

Engine management light and lack of power

Hello all

Hope someone can give me some advice on what could be causing this problem.

I have a 2015 grand C4 Picasso. I've owned it from new and have covered 57k miles in it.

On the way to work today the engine management light lit up. Something about an engine fault followed by emissions filter issue. White vapour started pouring from the exhaust, very strong ammonia smell. I was really close to work at this point , less than a mile.

Having left the car for a few hours I started it up again. No more vapour from the exhaust and no errors relating to the emissions, the engine management light stays lit and there is a very noticeable loss of power. The engine will not rev beyond 3k even at a standstill.

The emissions error has appeared before on a drive through France (45k on the clock) but the error cleared itself the following day and the dealership found no fault when checked back in the uk

What would these symptoms signify? Any known issues or quick fixes?

The car is serviced religiously and it spends 90% of its time on motorway and A roads so not overly stressed. I generally get 60+ mpg. Adblue is topped up when required.

Weird problem with alternator belt and tensioner.

Hi. Need some expertise opinion. Was driving along the highway. The alternator belt came off. When having a deeper inspection at home I noticed that it's not the belt that was torn but the tensioner was crooked. After even further inspection I noticed a hairline fracture on the big metal part where the tensioner is attached. The tensioner wobbles around freely. Could this be potentially car killing? After looking at some engine schemes it seems that it's just a large metal part and you can only get it from Citroen (guy in the parts shop told me that). I was thinking to find the same part from a scrap car. What is this big part anyway and what happens if I take it out?

When I was trying to unscrew things the first obstacle were the star/torx bolts in the picture. I cannot get them undone. If I take that blue metal thing off there is a rubber thing underneath and it is connected to the big metal part that I am trying to get out. If anyone could shed some light on this I would be very grateful.

Cannot get USB or Ebay AUX cable to work.

$

Hey

I have a 1.6 VTR+ with the JBL sound pack, i have been pulling my hair out trying to get either the USB box pictured below or a cable i got from ebay to work in the stock stereo.

I had original got the USB box connected to the Multi CD changer port on the back of the stereo, went into Lexia, found the "USB installation" in the radio config and ran that, nothing. Then i went to the Global Test, then Radio and Manual configuration and tried all the options for the Aux ports none of which work.

I then bought a cable from ebay and popped that in the other free port on the back of the radio and enable classic on both ports but i still have no audio.

Really want to get this stereo working with an AUX input as ive tried aftermarket stereos and they don't play well with the reverse sensors or the subwoofer leading to an awful experience.

I have attached a pic from the net of the USB box (looks exactly like mine) and the ebay cable.

Thanks for any guidance.

Paul
