I have pulled my hair out searching for the answers for these...
Can anyone please give me the axle stub diameter size for the rear brake discs (25mm or 30mm) and I have been told I have the Bosch set up....could anyone point me in the direction of the correct rear passenger caliper from euros, halfords or even ebay etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Fuel filler cap lock

I've just purchased a 2007 Grand Picasso Exclusive 2.0hdi.

A few issues have arisen, as expected on a 12 year old car. one of which is the fuel filler cap not locking at the point when all doors lock.

All I have found so far on the subject is the fuel cap sticking from excess suction when low on fuel.

I'm not sure if there is an actual lock mechanism that is broken or if it is suction/vacuum driven like above, or simply a sensor not working.
Can someone point me in the right direction.

Judder at 2,000rpm C4 (B7) 1.6 115 (DV6C)

Hi all,
I've no idea where to turn with an issue with my Citroen C4. I love the car, but at present it seems to prefer giving me problems.

The vehicle has developed an intermittent judder at around 2,000rpm. When accelerating harsly, the fault does not occur. The vehicle has had ELYOS fluid topped up about 400 miles ago (it was happening before that) and the Citroen garage recommended the DPF was changed so that was done last week (the car has covered 144,000 miles). When the judder occurs the vehicle shows an ASR/ESP fault, I assume that’s because it’s juddering, but no other warnings come up.

I’ve also noted that when the vehicle faults the heated rear screen comes on, which to me means the vehicle is trying to regenerate the DPF? Is that right?

When the fault does not occur the vehicle drives like a dream. It’s so frustrating and I can’t afford to keep throwing money at the car.

Does this sound like an EGR fault or could it be something else?

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Jacking a C4GP?

$

The image in the owners manual SEEMS to suggest jacking under the lip (!) on the underside of the door sill, front and rear. This looks like a recipe for a bent door sill to me so I wanted to check before I bring a jack anywhere near the car.
The Jacking Points the manual alludes to SEEM to be the points where there's a hole through the lip on the door sill. Is this correct?
And are we really supposed to put the jack under this lip?
I'm minded to ignore the jacking points and to put a hydraulic jack under the chassis member that runs front-rear about a foot inboard of the sills. Or can you jack under the spring seat on the rear suspension arms?
Please advise if you have any experience of using the jacking points (and how)?
Or if you have any experience of using a hydraulic jack (and where)?
[BTW - I have photos of what I think are the jacking points and of the page in the manual but where's the upload/attach photo button?]
Many thanks,
Clive

Jerky gearbox

Hi all, I am brand new to this forum and owning a C4. I purchased a Citroen C4 1.6 e-HDi Airdream EGS6 5dr 2012. I have noticed it has a really jerky gearbox when in start stop traffic and between 1st and 2nd gear, its really violent at times. Also, I have noticed when I am driving, and I take my foot off the gas to slow down, but need to speed up again, I press my foot on the gas, it revs really hard and doesn't move and then it jumps, like it jumps into gear possibly, It is really noticeable when travelling uphill, if I slow down and then put my foot on the gas, I can almost guarantee that the car will rev hard and then jump. Its really frustrating because I love my C4 and getting incredible MPG, Im not sure if this is the norm or should I take it to the garage?

Hi all,

Long term browser, first time sub and first post, so hi first!

Just wondering, i have manual (turn wheel heating selector and buttons) on the driver side air controls and the matching turn knob heating selector for the passenger in my 2011 Right hand drive 1.6 diesel HDI Grand picasso.

If i purchase the digital version of these controls (the ones with the buttons but have the yellow lcd screens showing the temp, will these plug straight in after i remove the old manual ones?

...or am i dreaming?

Thanks all!

Citroen C4 2013 1.6 e-HDI 84 KW - Will these rims fit?

Hello. I want to buy alloy rims from Citroen DS3.

My current steel rims are 7jx16H2. In specs I found on wheel size website, it says that the original rims are 6.5jx16. My car is from France, so I don't know what to think anymore.

The alloy rims I want to buy are 7jx16 CH4-26.

Will these fit or not? Sorry if the question was asked before, I've tried to find it without success.

Thank you in advance!

Hello all, just wanted to ask the question regarding the egs gearbox, whilst in trafic etc should you keep selecting N or is it ok to just leave in A? They don’t creep like an automatic so just wanted to check if leaving it in A when stationary is ok or does this cause wear? Thanks

Extended warranty question

$

From experience does anyone know if the annual renewal price for the Citroen Extended Warranty is linked to the number/value of claims?

I've made 2 claims so far this year (DMF and ancillary drive belt tensioner) and I've a feeling my aircon compressor has died (the car's booked in for a diagnostic next week) which will make 3 claims if that is the case.

Realistically should I expect a huge jump in the cost of next year's extended warranty?

Thanks

EGS Actuator cap seal

Hi,

Can anybody advise if the cap on the actuator tank should have that black rubber seal inside it?

Does this not prevent the system from being a "self bleeding" one as air cannot escape out the little hole in the cap?

Any advise would be a big help please

Recharging the battery with stop/start technology

$

The stop/start had not been cutting in recently, so I thought I'd check the battery charge level with a multimeter. To my surprise with one probe on the battery positive terminal and another on bare metal on the engine I got a reading of 18.3v. From what I'd read I thought the car had a 12v battery and a sort of 6v accumulator which is charged up and used to push 18v through the alternator to restart the hdi. But it would appear to be integrated into the battery itself. The quick release connector on the lead positive post is definitely not 12v.

If this is the case how can one give the vehicle a boost with a charger if, for example, you are to leave it unused for an extended period. I've never seen an 18v charger.

Has anyone got a full technical description of the stop/start system? I was intending to put a solar trickle charger on when I go travelling for a while.

Installing parking camera

Hello guys,
I am a new proud owner of beautiful C4 Picasso (2014). I found that rear visibility is bad (at least for me), and I don't have rear parking camera. I have parking sensors (rear) but no camera. As you can guess, I would like to install a parking camera and connect it to my multimedia screen. Does anyone have experience with that? Any suggestion, instructions? Any advice is welcome.

Temperamental car door unlocking

$

Hello.

I've just (today) started experiencing a problem where the driver's door isn't unlocking, even though the other doors are. It usually opens if I lock/unlock the car a second time.

Similarly, I've also found that the door is sometimes not locking with the other doors on the first try, and that opening the drivers door after locking sometimes results in the door opening and deactivating central locking.

Has anyone else experienced this? I've just greased the locking latch, but would welcome other ideas? Do I need to get the latch replaced urgently before it fails completely?

Thanks!

CITROEN C4 CACTUS

Hi Everyone

I have a Citroen C4 Cactus and like most others absolutely love the car. I have hand controls fitted and it is an 'automatic' (a technician told me it was a modified gearbox - something I wasn't told about when I bought it.

Over the past few months, it seems to do mini-wheelies when I pull out of a side road onto the main road, and last Wednesday when trying to reverse out of a parking space, it did a major wheely, shot forward and hit the fence in front of it. Fortunately, there was no damage to car or fence, but it did shake me a little.

The local dealer seems to think I am making things up and it was only with the intervention of Motability that they have to look about it. I have the Jeff Gosling hand controls and they don't think the hand controls are faulty.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?
