Evening people of the internet. Hopefully some of you will be able to help with a couple of issues I am having. It is a slightly long story so please bear with me till the end.
I have a 2007 (57) C4 Grand Picasso, 1.6 diesel, exclusive trim level.
The car has a full service history and was most recently serviced last June.
I recently had the engine management light on, returning a fault for insufficient exhaust gas circulation.
I sent the car to my friendly, local independent who changed the egr, battery, air and fuel filters.
He told me the negative battery lead had a crack in the bit that connects to the battery (the name of this has completely slipped my mind). He put a screw through it to hold it tight and all seemed well.
Until..... around a week later, driving along as normal and the dash goes loopy. Error for automatic handbrake, esp and depollution comes up all at the same time. Pull the car over and read the error codes, it comes back with codes:
P1162 Powertrain
P1351 Powertrain
P0561 System voltage unstable
Clear the codes to see if it's a blip and the car runs fine again. A few days later it does the same and throws the same error codes out. There is next to no difference in the driving of the car when these codes come up and when cleared it drives fine again.
So, that is my story. Anyone have any light to shed on it? Could it be something as simple as the system voltage throwing up random errors because of the iffy earth lead?
Many thanks if you have stuck through to now and your going to give some advice.
