C4 1.4 petrol, anti-pollution faulty, error codes P1339, P0303

Hi I have a 54 plate C4 1.4 petrol just ove 70000miles, I was driving home from work and the engine was really sluggish so I pulled over to check. the engine was really juddery so I turned off and started up again, it beeped at me and ANTI-POLLUTION FAULTY flashed up, while trying to pull away there was hardly any power there at all so had to limp home at 25mph in 3rd.

I took it to my local garage and he said he cant fit me in till next week but listened to it and pressed the accelerator and said there seems to be a miss fire at the bottom end, said I should start with changing the spark plugs, which I did and also changed the coil pack, but the problem is still there, struggles to pull off in 1st engine really lumpy.

I have a cheap code reader and the codes that come up are P1339 and P0303, any ideas, I'm booked in for next week at the garage but if I can fix myself I would prefer (needs to be an easy fix for me to try ).

thanks

Dipped Headlights & Parking Lights have stopped working at the same time

I have a 2006 Citroen C4 VTR.

So yesterday evening i parked up at my house with all lights working fine. A while later I had to drive somewhere only to find this time that both front dips and parking lights were not coming on. Everything at the back, everything else at the front (headlights, indicators and fog lamps) were working fine.
I'm willing to maybe accept 2 bulbs going at the same time, but 4 is a bit of a stretch.

Id initally thought it might be a fuse issue - but on checking the owners manual there was only 1 fuse (no. F4) in the glove box that made any reference to lights - "directional headlamps" - along with a host of other functions it managed, e.g. power steering, that did not seem to be affected.

So im a bit stumped. Any advice on whats going on would be much appreciated

Burn out areas on top digital display

Just coming to the end of my 3 year warranty & wondering if anyone else has got the same issue & what the response from citroen was in fixing it. The burn out areas are at the bottom right (2 areas) & left.
They appear in the same place on all 3 display themes, so i don't think it's a software issue.

[2015 CITROEN C4 GRAND PICASSO] - Electric Tailgate

Hello everyone,

I do not own a Citroen and I am passing by in hope that I can find some information for a project I am attempting. The project does not relate to cars at all but it involves linear actuators.

I was trying to find a cheap linear actuator that is compact enought to replace a hydraulic strut. So it happenned I was able to grab a set of electric tailgate struts of a Citroen on ebay for less than 50 GBP and now I am hoping to find the wiring diagrams for it so I can control the actuators with my own controller.

There are 2 plugs, one with two thicker wires that have to be power and ground.

There is another plug with 4 thinner wires that probably go to the controller box of the car.

If someone can confirm this or has a wiring diagram or a description thereof can you please post it or let me now.

Regards,
Evros

Another windscreen washer problem

Hello all

After going through all the usual washer related fixes fuses badly corroded fuse box plugs I'm stuck.

I went through Diagbox and into the BSI actuations and tested the functions for wipers, front & rear, they worked ok and service mode for the wipers was ok, but the washers front and rear when activated reported the test was OK but they did not work.

I have tested the wiring plug at the motor and there's no +/- or -/+ and the pump motor works off the vehicle and just to make sure a working one was swapped out from another vehicle with no working result again.

Apart from tracing the loom back for a broken wire is there something I,ve missed maybe ?

Hope you can help, thanks all

C4 1.6HDi wont start

I'm new here and hoping to get some ideas as to where to look next.

I have a 2006 C4 1.6HDi EGS. It cranks OK but will not fire. I've investigated various things (fuel filter, priming, fuses etc...) and my mechanic has as well.

At this stage it appears as though I'm not getting any diesel (pressure) out of the high-pressure pump (discharge to the common rail). When I crank the engine with the discharge line loosened there is no sign of fuel coming out.

Looking in the documentation on this website (C4 1.6 HDi function_diesel_fuel_system.pdf) the only thing I can see that could potentially stop the flow of diesel through the pump is the 'fuel flow regulator' situated on top of the pump (Bosch CP1). Does anybody have any experience with this device causing a problem?

My mechanic was suggesting replacing the high-pressure pump but we both agreed that this would probably be overcapitalising on this particular vehicle. She's getting a little long-in-the-tooth.

The last thing I checked is that voltage is getting to the 'fuel flow reg' while cranking and indeed it is (~10 - 12 Vdc).

Another point that may or may not be a factor is that previously, when the car had be stopped, the ignition was left turned on while the car was not running. My wife assumed that the starter battery was flat, thus car not starting. The battery has since been charge as is in good condition. Due to this the car says its in 'economy mode', as it hasn't run since.

Thanks in advance for any suggestion as to what I can check next.

Kind Regards,

Rennie

Hi sorry if this is in the wrong area, newbie be nice...

I've just got a C4 1.6HDi hatchback and I've noticed that the red speedo needle does not move but the digital speedo works fine. Also some time the dash dimmer does not work and settings that I have changed don't always stay when I stop / start the car again?

Are these all related, is it fuses? Or do I need to go back to dealers?

Thanks.

Hello all, my car has start cutting out (not stall) juddering and rattling when error codes are & red lights flashing over the dashboard.

So took it to the garage and he found the 2 above codes plus service light (done in April and reset then) he checked everything and couldn't find a fault, so got the car back and over the weekend car has felt under power & slight juddering, but whilst the wife was picking kids up from school it did it again - all the lights and cut out dead. She left it for a couple of minutes started it up service light on again, As she was near the garage, it's now gone in, but if he cannot find anything (not being a Citroen garage).

Is there any info that I could pass onto him for the causes? As both fault codes are Pressure & throttle coherence he look blank last time

an't start engine C4 Grand Picasso 2008

My story starts a year or so ago. In the morning I started the engine to move the car a couple of feet out of the way for a delivery van and then switched off again as I wasn't going anywhere. A few hours later I tried to start the car; it turned over but wouldn't start. I went indoors and made a few phone calls and then tried again. I pumped the accelerator vigorously while turning over and eventually it spluttered into life and chucked a bit of black smoke out. Since then car has run fine so I have thought nothing of it. Today I did the same thing and car won't start again. I almost got it going but have now run out of battery.....am charging the battery at the moment. Has anyone come across this before or have any suggestions as to why this might happen? Many thanks

Timing Belt Problems : To Repair or To Scrap it?

$

Hello,

My name is Love from Slough and am a newbie

Recently my Citroen C4 SX 2005 1.6 petrol stalled on the road and had to be towed to the garage. The mechanic on checking said the problem was the timing belt. The car has +100,000 miles on it. It was almost due for service.

On asking how much it would cost to repair it, the amount quoted is high because the timing belt may have caused damage to the engine. The engine has not been opened up as yet to verify the actual damage because of the cost implications.

Am really torn in between having it repaired or scrapping it altogether. This is my first car and I was gifted by my brother, bless him.

Any advice kind advice will be taken on board

Thank you kindly.

Love.

C4 Grand Picasso leaking boot

Hi,
I have a broken seal on the boot. Cannot find part as not sure what is is called / part no etc.
Its the rubber seal which runs along the top of the boot. The part where the boot meets the roof of the car.
This is not the inner rubber seal.
I can see the split when looking between the roof and top of the boot when the boot is closed.
Finding it impossible to locate the part as everyone thinks I mean the inner rubber seal.
Image of car showing where seal is (circled in red);

Diagram of parts;

I'm trying to identify the specific part.

Many thanks

C4 ticks over for only a few seconds

Good afternoon

I have a Citroen 2010 C4 1.6HDi auto. Today out of nowhere the car will not tick over. I turn the key and starter motor will work. Car sort of starts for half a second/2 seconds then cuts out. A few times it was only the starter motor working and didn't start at all.

Also I don't know if this is related but I can hear a buzzing from the driver's side front wheel arch after the ignition is off and a few times before but not all the time. The thing that's buzzing looks like it has fuel lines going into it.

update car now starts after a couple of attempts but cuts out randomly when driving also a message come up on the display saying Depollution system fault. the buzzing noise isnt on permanently now and I can also hear the fuel system priming which it wasn't doing when the problem first started. the engine management light is on too.

If anyone could help it would be much appreciated.

C4 Loeb valuation

Hi there,
My grandfather is looking to move on his C4, the dealer offer was an extreme low ball IMO and I was expecting a greater value. I understand this is one of 400 limited edition models. It's the 1.6l petrol manual, one owner from new with a FSH and a meagure 30 odd thousand on the clock. On a 2010/11 plate. It's one of those gems petrol heads want. I assume there is following and market for the model?
Sorry for the limited information I couldn't find many for sale, certainly in this condition and it's not my bag car wise so I know little about its worth.
Thank you in advance for your help, I don't want him getting a [%*^#@!] deal.

Car Loses Power - 'Engine Fault' & 'Circuit Fault'

$

Hello,

My C4 GP 1.6 110 HDI EGS has started to lose all power when driving, I have to pull over to the side of the road where the handbrake automatically applies. There is no drive, and power steering & power assisted brakes no longer function.

On the display I get 'Engine Fault' however if I turn the engine off and back on again I can usually continue my journey.

My wife has just been in touch with the same problem, however the car is now also saying 'Circuit Fault'. My Bluetooth OBDII reader doesn't work with this car so I've ordered a Lexia clone to try and find out what the actual error codes are, but from peoples experience are there any thoughts on what it could be?

Many thanks,

Ben.

Winter Grille

I have just bought the winter grille screen (or plug as Citroen call it), following the advice here:

http://c4owners.org/plugins/faq/faq.php?0.cat.2.186

My dealer had never heard of it, but nevertheless ordered it in for me. I wanted to make sure it fitted before leaving the dealership. I found it rather difficult, but a workshop technician did it for me.

I have the one featured at the bottom of the list from the webpage above, for a 2015 C4 GP.

Now that it is fitted, how easy is it to remove, as I don't want to break anything?

Engine management light

Good afternoon

So start the car this morning 1.6hdi gp 2009 and the engine management light comes on I've read the codes with a snap on versus and it comes up with a p0104 fault code relating to air mass how suspectable are these vehicles to wiring faults the only reason I ask is ive got a loose air box rattling about possible may of caused some damage to the wiring beneath it?? Does this sound feasible??
