2005 Citroen C4 hatch keeps breaking down when hot

Hi all, I am new to this forum. I have a Citroen C4 1.6 VTR+ petrol. The problem I am having is when the engine gets hot it will just cut out on me, usually when I have been doing motorway driving. I get a light saying oil pressure too low then it just cuts out. When it's working it feels like it pulling back on the power. I had a Peugeot 307 1.6 petrol before the C4 and that was a flying machine. help would be much appreciated thanks

C4 Picasso 1.6HDi fuel filter

Morning,
I had a service about a week ago by the garage including fuel filter change. Last day or 2 it's started showing depollution risk of blockage. I don't think it's an original part, has anyone heard the same?

I had the code read it's saying low fuel pressure ? I'm not driving it for now and was thinking of buying an original filter to see if this eliminates the issue.

Just looking for an input or some advice.

Cheers.

Should these have connections ?

Hi, there's a couple of connections on my C4 Picasso 1.6HDi I'm wondering about, should they have plugs in/pipes connected?

One connection is sat next to the DPF on the right (circled), and looks like it should have some kind of vacuum pipe attached. there is a loose rubber hose over to the right (circled when it sits at moment, bottom pic), but that's always been loose and assumed it was some kind of 'drain'. I'm wondering if this should be connected to the connection, or should I be perhaps looking for something else to connect? or is perhaps a redundant connection?

The other is a plug on top of what looks like the clutch, to the right of the engine and low down. The inside looks clean (green plastic) like something used to be in there, I'm not sure if this is a diagnostic or optional port or if there should be a plug to go in there that's kicking around somewhere and not connected. I can't find anything at all at first glance.

The car has recently had the DPF exhaust clamp rejoined, and a new flywheel/clutch.

Thanks for looking,

Aerial and Speaker Questions

Hello all,

I've tried searching but had no joy, maybe I'm not using the right keywords...

I'm looking to upgrade the speakers in my 2015 C4 Grand Picasso. Could someone please let me know the sizes needed, do any need to be thinner in depth, are there any fitting guides?

Also I need to fit a stubby aerial to be able to fit the car in my garage, is the roof aerial for FM/AM only or is this also the DAB aerial? Hoping the DAB aerial is somewhere different.

Appreciate any help!!

Thanks

Alan

What is this part called?

Hi, wonder if anyone can help. I'm in the process of sorting/finding out what needs to be done on a few issues on my c4 grand picasso, and one of the issues is a fair bit of oil on the left hand side that pools a little and drips down. it looks like it's coming from the unit on the picture attached, is there a common issue to do with this section that could be dripping oil, or is perhaps something else around that area (injector seals look good), someone suggested it may have been overfilled once and dripped down, but that doesn't feel right - it seems like a constant thing that doesn't go away with cleaning etc. Thanks for looking

This problem occur only if engine's RPM is below 1800 and 4th gear is on, but not every time. All four sparks has only 10000+ kilometres in use, oil was recently replaced. The only one visible problem with the exhaust front pipe, where small crack was found.

Thanks in advance for any idea.

Sealant for air doseur

Hi, apologies for creating another thread on this (already got one trying to identify what the leak/part was) but I'm going to look at sealing the oil leak on c4 grand picasso air doseur, does anyone know if there is a specific silicone sealant I should use, is there special auto sealant/certain brand to handle oil /temperature ? It's just I know there's all sorts of silicone out there. Don't want to be using the wrong stuff !

Also my approach (reading various helpful threads) was going to be get the air doseur off, split it and seal the two halves, am I on the right track here - not sure about anything else on the unit though like the two large pipes to the intercooler? I was thinking, seal the box halves then see how it's goes.

Thanks for looking.

Hi all,

Just about to replace the rear shocks on my C4 and I was wondering if anyone can give me the part numbers for the nut and bolt that attach to the bottom of each rear shock?

I'll need to replace them as well (they're nylon locking nuts) but can't find a part number anywhere!

Thanks folks!

Interesting drive logging app

I work for an IoT company & like IoT, home automation etc.

When looking at if this then that, I noticed the Dash channel. Now, if you haven't heard of if this then that (IFTTT), it's a site that allows certain 'things' to be included in simple rules.

There are simple recipes that allow you to log weather to google drive etc. but the one I've overlooked is the Dash channel.
With Dash, you get a free app on your phone & use an OBDII reader (one you already own or you can buy one from them) to talk to the app https://dash.by/ it logs the trip, allows you to send alerts for driving style (e.g. speeding), remebers where you parked and flags up errors.

The nice part about adding an IFTTT recipe is you can log stuff to google drive, google spreadsheet or even send an alert when you get to a destination. more ideas here https://ifttt.com/dash

Anti pollution fault but car drives fine.. P0100 and P0234 errors

Good evening, wondering if anyone can help with this problem. I have C4 1.6 hdi '07 that I purchased about a week ago with about 90k miles. After driving for about 300 miles I get the anti pollution fault on the display, but the car is actually running fine, no limp mode or anything

I've connected my ODB scanner and I get "P0100 Powertrain (Mass or volume air flow circuit" and "P0234 (Turbo/Supercharger overboost condition).

Anyone know what could be causing this?

Rear suspension skipping

Hi all,

I have a problems with the rear suspension on my C4 Grand Picasso 2007 1.6 HDi manual.
When going round bends above 30mph the rear will skip violently to the side if it hits a relatively small bump.I have checked my wheel nuts - they are all tight. I have normal suspension - not air suspension or self levelling. Today it done it on a very slight bend at about 55mph - very unnerving. Car MOT'd recently with supposedly no issues. I had a quick look under the car and couldn't see a tie bar going across the car so I thought the only culprits would be the main bushes just forward of the beam axle or the shock absorbers. The shockies seemed a little bouncy at the back - but I thought Citroens were always like that. Anybody any ideas?

Thanks

Grand Picasso Gearbox issue

Hi I'm hoping someone can advise me.
I recently bought a used Grand Picasso. 2l diesel EGS gearbox.

I always drive in auto and was feeling good about the car until 30 miles from home today I stopped at a red light and the car refused to budge.

I managed to blag a push into a car park where I was promptly on the phone to the RAC. Heres what I found while I waited.

I could reverse the car. But once it was in reverse it didn't help to switch to manual or auto...it just continued to reverse until I restared the engine.
The car in auto would literally crawl forwards (at a snails pace) using all the revs it could lay its hands on.
A depollution fault made an appearance. Then disappeared again.

At this point I gave up grabbed myself a coffee and waited to be rescued.

When the RAC man came I drove the car forward it drove fine for about a minute then gave up again and I was towed home.

On arriving back my other half checked the fuses and the actuator reservoir and it was full with no leaks. after a time it thew up a gearbox fault on the dash. RAC man plugged in his diagnostic tool but it threw up everything and the cars grandma.

I am nervous to whip it straight to a dealer. I don't want every part under the sun changing and my bank account emptying to be left with the same problem. My other half is an engineer and technically minded but where to start looking what are the possible issues here?

After recently scrapping a Sedona that id had 5 minutes I could literally cry. Seriously considering investing in a pony and cart.

Can anyone shed any light on my problem please and I will happily continue to documnent our progress in the hopes it can help someone else

Thankyou

Can anyone suggest the best place/places to search for 16" rims (5 x 108 stud pattern) to suit the C4 Picasso? I understand that 16" rims for the current model Peugeot 308 will also fit the C4 Picasso.

I live in Australia.

EGS box frequently won't engage reverse 1.6HDi

Hi all my 09 grand picasso regularly doesn't engage reverse plus I sometimes get the juddering start. I done the hard reset and that cures the juddering for a while. I've had a diagnostic check done by my local garage and nothing showed up. Mechanic seems to think I need new clutch/flywheel which will cost €1,000. I'm willing to do this if it solves the problem. After driving for a little while the car will engage reverse, any ideas greatly appreciated. Mileage 230,000kms
