Here's a challenge for you! C4 GP 2006 - Pictures in links

Hi, there is a connector that I cannot for the life of me unplug.

Can anybody tell me how I can get it out? Do I have to push a plastic part? See this link for what connector I am talking about, it is just under the oil filter cup above a pipe of some sort going into the block. Here are two pictures of the connector I am talking about.

Overview, connector in white circle: https://flic.kr/p/Fgn9P6
Close up: https://flic.kr/p/FgmTjD

The reason I want to get it out is because there have been spilled oil all around it and I have a "Gearbox faulty" error showing randomly. And based on this video it makes sense to clean this plug: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-koTBX78NMM

Oh, and by the way, does anybody know what this plug does/ goes into? Any guidance on this is highly appreciated!

Hi one of my rear speakers on my 2014 grand Picasso has blown.
How do i remove the door card. I can only find one screw underneath, is it just that and then the push in clips. Any other screws?
What size is the speaker, and any cheap decent replacements? Cheers.

Hello

The plastic headlamp support brackets have snapped after hitting a pheasant

I'm looking to attempt a repair to the brackets but will need to remove the headlight unit. Does anyone know if this is a bumper off job or have any other pointers?

Thanks

What do you think could have caused these cracks above the rear window?

So my car had damage on the doors on the left side (minor abrasion), went to the body shop and I picked it up - great job so far.

I then turned on the rear wiper last weekend to find it banging into the brake strip light at the top of the back window... weird... I looked for possible causes and noticed for the first time these cracks, which made me think the top had been pushed down slightly.

On taking it back to the body shop the manager immediately acknowledged that he had changed the wiper blade due to the painter breaking the old one, so a shorter one is on order as he says he got the wrong one even though supplying the parts company with my REG.. also I have pictures of this car from the original dealer and the length of this blade looks pretty much the same as the original.

Question is, what on earth would cause such cracks along the top rear of my 2014 grand picasso?, I'm pretty damn sure I would have noticed them before as I hand clean my car.

really strange heater problem on C4 GP 2008

hi all, I have a 2008 C4 GP, and the heater has started playing up.. at first it just decided to not work... then it decided to work sometimes.. Now it will work if I have the controls set to blow into the back but not if I have it aimed at the windscreen...

searched on here and it appears the Relay is normally the problem.. BUT would the relay cause it to only work in some positions??

any thoughts or help from people would be much appreciated.. I am going to take the heater motor out tomorrow if I can figure out how to get to it, and see if there is a potential for lose wire or something...

cheers

Windscreen Glass replacement

Evening all,

During the recent snow my dear wife decided to test the strength of the wiper blades while partially frozen to the windscreen.

Once activated the drivers side wiper broke in half and part of the plastic clip/metal pins made a large scratch (about 5cm in width) right across the drivers side while going through its arc. Driving at night or in rain is really difficult due to the distortion. The insurance company have agreed to replace the windscreen through Autoglass

Quick question: is the glass a heat reflecting type ?(its a 2013 C4GP platinum), on the windscreen there is some writing "saint gobain 70% etc...."

also they have offered to do a mobile fit outside, at my place. Given the size would it be advisable to take the car to their workshop as the environment is much cleaner and I guess it might be a 2 man lift.

Lastly, are there any other useful bits of advice from forum members that I should be weary of to make sure the job is done properly. I'm not really keen on changing the original spec glass but I guess don't have much choice, given the visibility issues

thanks in advance.

Parking Sensor Fault

Has anyone had a Parking Sensor fault?

This car is 2013 out of warranty.

Car was fine not driven for 3 days when we had the snow, drove ok on Monday, and Tuesday morning.

When got in car 7pm Tuesday (last night) started car:

Parking sensor display showed the front of the car with a green/yellow and red indicator even though nothing was in front of the car...beeping.

As I drove away the sensor beeps went quiet and a "SERVICE" appeared on the left of the top screen, and on the top right of top screen an orange indicator showing "P))) off" (parking sensors off). And a message in the speedometer circle "Parking Sensor Fault"

Turn engine off and on did nothing. Except the "SERVICE" light did turn off.

In the control panel below, the parking sensors show that they are "off" and no amount of pressing the button will turn them back on.

Whilst pressing the button at traffic lights the "SERVICE" came back on briefly and then turned off again.

I checked the front of the car...no damage visible.

I will be driving it again today and will report back here tonight.

ECU or Wiring Fault

$

Hello All,
I wonder if anyone can help me, or has experienced a similar problem to the one I am facing?
Recently bought a second-hand '64 plate, RH drive, 7-seater C4GP EXC AIR EHDI 1.6.
Have only had the car 2 months when the engine management light has come on. There have been no other issues with it, and no other warning messages displayed.
Since we bought the car, I have noticed that the eco mode rarely kicks in, and since the engine management light came on, the stop/start forcefully disables itself, with an exclamation mark shown in the 'eco off' button.

I connected my Obd2 code reader to the car and it provided the following definitive error messages:

Engine Management
P1AA2 - Internal Electronics Fault
P1694 - Controlled Engine Start and Stop: Starter Control Line Faulty.
P1AA2 - Voltage Retaining Device: Supply Open Circuit or Short Circuit To Earth.

It also displayed a further 21 B and U error codes, all of which are the same relating to Battery Charge Status, BSI and Supply, Protection and Management.
I have searched the web for these additional codes, but can't find them in any database.

Also, the ability of the reader to connect to the ECU seems to be intermittent, as I frequently get communication errors, every other time I attempt to communicate with the ECU.

Can anyone advise whether they think this is likely to be a wiring/loom issue, or more likely to be a problem with the ECU?
The reason I ask is my warranty will cover one, but not the other. I am annoyed that I have only had the car 2 months and it's causing me grief already. Otherwise I completely love the car.

Any advice/suggestions appreciated.

Oh, I forgot to mention, car starts fine every time!

Hello,

I have C4 Grand Picasso Exclusive Plus, 2014 model. The car has only done 12000 mileage and there is no manufacturer warranty left.

Up until yesterday, everything was fine, but today in the morning when I came to work, I noticed the heater is not working. I drove the car for about 30 miles (over 1 hour).

The fan is working fine, but it is blowing very cold air (freeing air) even when the Air Con if switched off.

Can someone please guide me in the right direction to what/where to look out for? Any fuse that I need to check? Any wire, cable, pipe, valve that I need to check and how to get to that?

Can you please help.

Thanks

JS

C4 mk2 2011 1.6hdi front parking sensors & footwell lights plus remap

Hi Guys, I have been lurking in the forum reading the posts but haven’t found any definitive answers so hopefully someone can advise me. Thanks in advance.👍

I have purchased some standard fit led footwell lights and can see where they fit but can’t see the wires . Does anyone know if the wires are present behind the trim so are just plug and play?, if so where would they be.

I wanted to fit genuine parking sensors that would integrate into the standard screen but have read that the kit Citroen sell 9690.01 is just a meta system kit. So if I purchased a genuine parking Ecu part no.9800409680 which is for front and rear sensors. Would this integrate fully? And where is the parking ecu located as I currently have just rear sensors.

I have become a premier member and wondered which companies carry out ECU engine remap as cant find them in the list.

C4 Grand Picasso rear window fix

Thought I'd post this to help others. Whilst ferrying my grandkids around on holiday (manic!). My grandaughter opened the rear near-side window and low and behold it wouldn't close and it stared raining!!!

Tried all the obvious; battery re-set etc to now avail. Eventually out of desperation I removed the door panel and foam inner sheet, unplugged the motor, WD40, plugged back in and it's fixed!

        Deep joy!

Safety recall : electrical cooling management system software update

        $

        0
Hi all. Anyone with a C4GP received an urgent recall letter recently? According to the letter the existing control parameters could cause the engine to overheat. By not getting it corrected I am committing an offence? (says VOSA)

        Letter wording:

It has been identified that on your Citroën Vehicle, the details of which appear above, the engine electronic cooling management control strategy and the maximum temperature alert threshold could cause the engine to overheat. This could result, in extreme cases, in the failure of the engine. This recall consists of downloading new engine management software in order to modify the cooling management parameters. This precautionary action is considered essential and it will of course be carried out free of charge.

Please contact your chosen dealer's service reception who will be able to book an appointment to carry out this recall and give you further information if required. It would help to have this letter with you when making the call as it contains information they will need.

Should you wish to find a local dealer, please visit our dealer locator at www.citroen.co.uk/find-a-dealer. Alternatively, you can call 0800 0939393 and we will be able to let you know which dealers are nearest to you.

If you have sold the vehicle it would assist us greatly if you would indicate this on the prepaid card below, if possible providing the name and address of the new owner in the spaces provided on the card, and return this card to us.

This safety recall is being conducted according to the code of practice for safety recall operations agreed between the Motor Industry and the Department For Transport (DFT), it is being monitored by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and agency of the Department for Transport.

We regret any inconvenience this recall may cause you but thank you for your cooperation.

        Yours sincerely

2009 Citroen Grand Picasso 50,000 miles fault codes and loss of power

My car developed problems last week when one of the fuel injectors went diesel then I was told a pipe was leaking behind them this was also fixed the garage took it for a test drive and it broke down as the fuel injector that he put in was not tightened up enough so back to the garage overnight. So far just over 600.00. I got the car back and drove a few miles in it today and the power went and the engine switched off. I left the car for 10 mins and turned the engine over and it started. 5 mins later the engine packed in and ground to a halt on a ring road. Luckily a police car was not far behind me and stopped with his lights flashing. The car is back to the garage when I put the key in to try to start the engine it just chugged but would not start. The antipollution button was light up and one message flashed gear box problems. the garage put it on there machine and the codes are p1351 p1394 p0087 p0093 p1113 they said it started when they sprayed something on the engine not sure what but say it won't start when it takes its own diesel. any ideas guys as the garage are telling me that it is now the fuel pump that is broken and needs to be replaced. The car has full service history and i do have it serviced every 10,000 miles.
