Lower ball joint breaking and wishbone bush replacement
Hi all,
I'm having to replace my wishbone bushes so will have to break the wishbone ball joint. My trusty ball joint breaker appears to be a bit big so can anyone recommend a ball joint breaker in the UK to buy. I've had a look in the Halfords etc but not sure if they will fit.
Any other advice on this and the bush replacement greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Rear handbrake cable replacement
Hi all, happy new year,
My problem is the rear drivers side cable had snapped on my c4 Picasso VTR plus, I’ve changed the cable but I don’t seen to have enough play to attach it to the block in the middle that runs to the motor, is there any way of getting and slack from the motor side of the cable, is pulled the seat out to get to the motor but a Carnot see and way of releasing it, any help would be great
Thanks

C4 2010 hatchback MyWay switches off and on every 30 mins
Hi All. I'm.new to this site today. Bought a 2010 C4 5 door hatchback 2 months ago. The MyWay system switches off then on again every 30 mins. Also I've just noticed this week that every time that happens the Speedo reading in the central display briefly switches from mph kmh then back. Does anyone have any ideas?
Many thanks Max

De-pollution system faulty
Hi guys this is my first time posting and I’m not a car expert so go easy on me.
I have a Citroen C4 Picasso 1.6 HDI 110bhp 79,000 08 plate. It’s been a solid car for me but for a while now I’ve had the dreaded de-pollution system faulty warning light. This has come up and disappeared numerous times but recently my turbo went. After sourcing the parts my mate put a new one in but then found the turbo oil feed was leaking so again sourced one and fitted. Job done all good, but four weeks later the car went into limp mode and now the de-pollution system light has come up again. Does anyone have any idea what it could be as doing research myself it could be a number of things? Has anyone had the same problem and what was it? Thanks in advance.

all warning lights on
Where do i start? this is the worst car i have ever bought!! everytime i solve one problem another totally unrelated happens.
had no end of warning lights before, changed coil pack, problem solved.
month later more warning lights, found brake switch was broken, replaced and all sorted. around another month later clutch release bearing exploded so new clutch fitted. back on the road 3 days it cut out while driving. had it on the ramp trying to trace problem eventually found it was the crankshaft sensor, it had been damaged when bearing exploded. so the car has been on our ramp for 4 days before finding fault (wasnt being worked on for that long), we replaced the sensor and car fired up straight away, WAHOO? Wrong !!!!! Not we have a fist full of faults and warning lights, none will turn off.
Handbrake faulty/esp/abs etc etc stop service. Fault reader says handbrake and more related faults, when applying handbrake you can hear the motor start to move but then sounds like it returns, could this be because of a sticking cable or something, been on ramp 4 days with handbrake off, so now no handbrake.
also
fault says power steering problem, which it seems to have when turning wheel fast as the steering goes stiff, also says steering wheel rotation speed fault (wtf), brake fluid low (doesnt even have a sensor on bottle). to clear some faults it says if the car has a key start then you must insert key in box under steering wheel (it doesnt have anything there). it had no faults prior to cutting out while driving, all we have done is change crank shaft position sensor. Does anybody have a clue about any of this?? for the short amount of time the car is faultless it drives beautifully, it just doesnt want to be fixed, one thing after another, some technical help, please

Is electric handbrake calibration required after brake service
Hi,
I've been reading the technical documents on changing the rear brake discs and it states the handbrake needs calibrated via a diagnostics tool. Last year, before I had access to these documents I changed rear pads and caliper without calibration/diagnostics with no problems - handbrake worked fine and passed MOT. So is handbrake calibration really required?

Panoramic curtain / cover not working
Hello All
I have just bought an C4 Grand Picasso 1,8 from 2007 that has 165.000 km on the clock.
The car was bought by an dealer and i was told that the engine to move the curtain/cover for the panoramic windows, is broken.
I have just cheched, and the fuse seems to be ok. Can it really be the engine that has failed? How can i best possible find the issue?
And IF the engine is broken, would it be easy to replace?

Diagnostic / fault readers?
I'm new to modern cars but have quickly realised a diagnostic machine is essential. Can anyone recommend one for the C4? Where to buy it from? price? etc. As with most things, i'm sure there are some cheap nasty ones knocking around with the good ones.
Also where does it plug in? I know where it is on a Golf but obviously every car is different.
Cheers.

Current model GP
After owning the pre13 model, I’m trading up to the current GP. Looking to get a 66 reg onwards. I’ve always had a manual but looking to get a EAT6 with a 1.6 engine. What’s the EAT6 like to live with on a daily basis ? Also now that all the models are blue, does that mean the EOLYS is no longer in the car ? Finally looking to get one of the last VRT spec ones as I like 16” wheels. Anyone find the ride compromised by the 17” wheels or I’m I being over cautious ?
Many ha kid in advance!!!

Philips amp location / replacement in C4GP
Hi!
I have C4GP Exclusive 2007 with Philips sound system. Some time ago it went silent and after some search it didn't seem like it's unique occurrence. I opted to change to Alpine head unit to get Bluetooth-streaming added, but unfortunately for me, I didn't take into account that adapter leads won't work in systems that have separate amplifier installed. All sound signals seem to go to the amp, so it looks like there is something wrong with the amp (not necessarily fried as sound does work sometimes, but for most of the time not).
However, I cannot find any info where this amp is installed in the car. I looked under front seats and there is only subwoofer under passenger seat but nothing under drivers seat. I really need to find it so I can check the connections and possibly get a replacement part. Has anyone here done the replacement?

Citroen Mapcare
For those of you who have the free map updates via Mapcare, the location of this has changed recently.
It used to be found under the heading of My Car on the My Citroen website. It is now located under Citroen Shop.
It took me a while to puzzle out where it had gone. Hope this helps others.

Rear Parking Sensors Not Working.
Hi there, i have a 2007 1.6HDi Vtr+ EGS with the factory fitted option of the rear parking sensors.
When selecting reverse an audible bleep is heard along with the lcd screen operating to show the reverse parking function is operating, then as you reverse the beeps get faster as you approach an object.
Now as i select reverse no audible beep is heard, no visible indication appears on the lcd screen and no beeping operates whilst reversing. The reversing lights light up as normal.
Any ideas? or experiences of this fault would be appreciated.Thanks.

Radio stuck on silence
Hello all, I have recently bought a 2010 plate Grand Picasso, the radio worked fine on the way back from the dealer, but now it is stuck on silence. I have disconnected the battery - No Joy. I have heard that the mute button on the steering can stick, and a bit of electronic connector spray will work.
Is this the case, or has anyone else other ideas? Thanks in advance

Lexia woes possibly faulty?
Hi all,
Purchased a Lexia interface and surprise surprise i'm having issues
I think at this point it is faulty but wanted your opinion.
Installed software various tutorials I have a VM with Diagbox 5.29 and another with 7.5x.
On both the interface checker works and i can see the interface is rev B so i have been using the 5.29 VM as Im aware rev B wont work above this.
The interface firmware is 4.2.4.
All software is being run under admin.
As I can see the interface in the checker and DB shows the connection prompt it looks like the hardware has installed however when launching Lexia or DB it refuses to make any readings at all (no dialogue) its also unable to read the VIN and has no awareness of turning the ignition etc. I have uplugged the device and re plugged it prior to launching the Lexi application as suggested and it does nothing.
As the DB seems to recognise the interface and interface checker sees it i'm thinking the unit is faulty or the drivers are incorrect?
In device manager the usb device is showing as:
ACTIA USB Devices => USB com board driver (UMDF)
The drivers were installed using the DB driver installation app
I have seen people saying it should read "multi" but i cant see anything like that.
I have tried this on my 2008 C4 Grand picasso and a friends pug 308
Any pointers would be great
Further to reading other threads i also pulled all the fuses under the bonnet and nothing is blown. I have also checked the cars port removing it from the glovebox mount to check the rear and used both USB cables.

Post Warranty Servicing Plans - Views/Opinions/Suggestions
My C4GP is now three years old (how time flies), there have been a few issues with it but it's been a damn good car really I think. At year 1 I joined the Citroen servicing scheme and my car has now been serviced 3 times, I think I paid £400 or so. Yesterday at the last service the dealer pushed their own servicing plan that would cost around £700 for three years (it would include MOT's though). I haven't checked the full details but I'm guessing there are lots of similar schemes out there.
I'd be reluctant in taking a dealer specific plan because it ties you to them, if they insist that something is needed for example then you are limited to look elsewhere or get a second opinion (unless you are happy paying twice).
Then the other point to this is warranties, my car has had some expensive replacement parts under warranty, the top screen for example. I can do basic mechanical work but there is a lot of technology on this car and I'd be lost with that.
So I'd welcome any thoughts, suggestions or opinions on both servicing plans but also extended warranties.
Thanks
Dan
