Pre facelift Exclusive+, un-grand Picasso, pre-owned so it's the spec it is. (I wouldn't have paid extra for a slow moving tailgate.) Anyway, it gives a single beep when you press open, but when told to close it beeps repeatedly like a reversing bus. You really notice it when you get home from a long trip late at night. Not the sort of thing you think about in the showroom.
Neighbour hasn't (and doesn't and wouldn't) grumble, but it occurs to me that they must be able to hear it at 1.00 am and if I lived next door to someone who had a car that sounded like a dying piglet I might be cross. I know I can just pull it down manually but silent auto would be win-win.
So - has anyone de-beeped their tailgate? Maybe it's just taking a wire out of the beeper, who knows but I don't want to start pulling trim panels off to try to find it. Any clues?
