When in for a service recently, the dealer called to say my discs & pads were ±85% worn, and my rear tyres 90% worn. I wasn't ready to tip up for replacements, and figured I'd keep an eye and arrange to get it sorted in due course.
Soon after the car sailed through it's first MOT, without so much as an advisory on the tyres. I raised this with the tester, and they said that despite the tread getting low towards the edge of the tread, there was plenty through the centre - hence a straightforward pass.
So, I'm happy to keep a close eye on the tyres - but how do I check the wear on the discs and pads? As it stands, I'm likely to get them changed imminently, but would appreciate not being completely reliant on a trip to the dealer to know what's what.

ps. The car has done 37,000, and I'm the second owner - so no idea how it was driven for the first 23K!
