Hi I'm hoping someone can advise me.
I recently bought a used Grand Picasso. 2l diesel EGS gearbox.
I always drive in auto and was feeling good about the car until 30 miles from home today I stopped at a red light and the car refused to budge.
I managed to blag a push into a car park where I was promptly on the phone to the RAC. Heres what I found while I waited.
I could reverse the car. But once it was in reverse it didn't help to switch to manual or auto...it just continued to reverse until I restared the engine.
The car in auto would literally crawl forwards (at a snails pace) using all the revs it could lay its hands on.
A depollution fault made an appearance. Then disappeared again.
At this point I gave up grabbed myself a coffee and waited to be rescued.
When the RAC man came I drove the car forward it drove fine for about a minute then gave up again and I was towed home.
On arriving back my other half checked the fuses and the actuator reservoir and it was full with no leaks. after a time it thew up a gearbox fault on the dash. RAC man plugged in his diagnostic tool but it threw up everything and the cars grandma.
I am nervous to whip it straight to a dealer. I don't want every part under the sun changing and my bank account emptying to be left with the same problem. My other half is an engineer and technically minded but where to start looking what are the possible issues here?
After recently scrapping a Sedona that id had 5 minutes I could literally cry. Seriously considering investing in a pony and cart.
Can anyone shed any light on my problem please and I will happily continue to documnent our progress in the hopes it can help someone else
Thankyou
