Broken tailgate window

Hi,

I came home yesterday evening to find my tailgate window smashed - only got the car brand new the weekend before last! Nothing was taken and there appears to be no attempt to try to get in. It's as if the glass has totally shattered.

What I wanted to ask was - and as it's so strange is there any possibility the glass could have been installed incorrectly and stressed? Anyone else had their window go like this?
