I have a 5 seat Citroen C4 Picasso, 1.6HDi, Manual, on a 58 plate with 47K miles. I bought it 4 months ago and while for the most part it has been great, I’ve had some issues.

Issue 1
When putting the key in the ignition, and attempting to start the car, sometimes I will get a ‘Faulty Parking Brake’ error after a couple of turns. The starting procedure is then halted. If I then turn the key back to the starting point in ignition and turn the key to start again, all is fine.
I did take it to a Citroen dealership maybe a week later and asked them to look in to the faulty parking brake issue and they said diagnostics didn’t show anything which could help identify this issue.
Issue 2
When driving, the car has juddered (revs drop and then go back up in quick succession without any action on the accelerator pedal from me). Very shortly after this, the engine dies and the dash board lights up and I see error messages such as ESP failure, Oil Pressure Low, Parking Brake Failure, SERVICE and then STOP. I pull over, switch off the ignition, wait 30 seconds, start it up and all is fine again.
This has happened only twice since driving for 4,000 miles in it.
Issue 3
More recently when driving, again the car has juddered (revs drop and then go back up in quick succession without any action on the accelerator pedal from me) before flashing up an ‘Anti Pollution System Faulty’ error and the engine management light came on.
After this I took it to a local garage and they said there were many erorr codes but they did not know how long they’d been present so they suggested clearing all error codes and for me to take it way, put some miles on it and bring it back if I get any other errors. That was Monday this week.

Yesterday morning (Wednesday) Issue 1 appeared when trying to start it. I’d already started it fine earlier at 5.45am and driven maybe 2 miles, but half an hour later for my 2nd journey, the error appeared. Switching off and starting again worked fine and the car behaved fine for the rest of the day.
This morning, around 9am while driving at a steady 40mph, all of a sudden issue 2 appeared. After restarting, the car drove fine. Lunch time today I took it for a 10 mile drive and all was good.
I phoned my local garage and arranged to take it there this evening for them to run another diagnostic on their Snap-On Verdict 07 machine to get the error codes. I’ve attached an image showing the info.

Antilock Brakes:
U1308 - No communications with the engine management ECU
U1108 - No communications with the engine management ECU no signal
BSI/Trailer Hitch/Engin Relay Unit (If Equiped):
098F - Engine Fuse Box: Front Left Fog Lamp Fault Open Circuit - Local
Electric Power Steering:
U1308 - Internal Combustion Engine Information Fault
U1108 - Fault: Absence of Communication With CMM
Electric Parking Brake:
U1108 - No communication with the engine ECU fault: No signal
Windscreen Wiper:
098F - Engine Fuse Box: Front Left Fog Lamp Fault Open Circuit - Local

The above got me thinking that maybe this is a water ingress issue and maybe the issues I’ve been having are down to this and a possible issue with the fuse box. It had rained Tuesday afternoon and also Wednesday night.
I also know that there’s an issue where the bottom of the windscreen has come away from the scuttle panel on the passenger side of the car so there’s a gap. Could water run down this gap and get in to the wiring/fuse box? Is the fuse box located here? I’ve Autoglass coming out to me on Monday to replace the windscreen as there’s a crack in it so this replacement will hopefully resolve this gap where it meets the scuttle.
So I guess I’m asking if anyone has had similar issues and could I be on the right track to getting this resolved?
