My 33,000 km C4 Picasso (5-seater) squeaks from the front end when passing over a significant bump, such as a speed hump, at a reasonable speed. This coincides with reasonably rapid compression of the front suspension.
I thought it was a lack of lubrication in the front antiroll bar bushes, but the other day when I removed the front tyres to lubricate those bushes (lubrication of bushes: a bit of a fraught exercise!), I noticed that with the front suspension in full 'droop', the plastic gaiters protecting the dampers weren't attached to the lower portion of the damper assembly and I now wonder whether the movement of these gaiters is the source of the noise.
Has anyone else experienced what I describe?
Chris
