As the topic title says, the car has developed a rumble.
When I first heard it, I wasn't sure if it was just tyre noise from the road surface, but driving on a nice new bit of resurfaced motorway, I could still hear it.
Is it wheel bearings, where is it coming from? I just couldn't tell. Gradually it has got worse. I can now feel it vibrating the car through my seat too.
It may even be drive couplings, I just cant tell.
So, I've booked it in under the extended warranty.
They can have a look at the other problem that has been occurring with the stop start. I press the SS button as usual and the dash lights up and the car doesn't start no matter how long I sit there with the clutch depressed. Also a few times now, the engine does not stop, nor the dash close down when the SS button is pressed. Having had the car for 3.5 years, I don't think it's operator error, but as neither occur every time, I fear that it will come back with 'Fault not found'
I'll report back in 10 days.
