Hi folks my wife's 2013 1.7 hdi C4 has had a problem from January this year, when the engine is cold the car runs really rough and the engine is quite noisy (like a tappity noise )once the car is up and running, say on the motorway at 60mph its fine.
We have had the car back to Citroen four times with this problem from january and to date they have allegedly changed something called a high pressure fuel switch which didn't help ...then they tried to say it was bad fuel so they emptied the tank and fitted a new fuel filter and refueled it at the filling station they recommend which funny enough is the same filling station the wife uses this has also not help solve the problem at all.
So today we were going out in the car and as the wife was sitting at a side road and started to maneuver onto a main road the car (which was cold) started to splutter and cut out for a couple of seconds which nearly caused an accident she got it started again and we drove of...the wife is starting to get worried and concerned about her car ,she loves the car and with her working shifts as well as nights she is losing all hope of getting the car fixed, she does a 40 mile round trip to work each day which includes motorway and country roads so she is worried as am i that the car is going to break down in the middle of the night and leave her stranded.
The car has 67000 miles on it.
It has a full citroen service history from the garage in question.
We have an extended warranty until jan 2017 through Citroen.
So tomorrow morning we will be back at the dealers with the same problem which BTW they say is fixed every time they hand it back to us.
Could someone guide us in relation to our opinions if they can't get this problem sorted...if Citroen cant resolve this fault with a Citroen car what do we do ???
The car is 18 months into a 48 month finance contract with Citroen.
Please help.
Regards Mark .
