Hi,
Car is currently with the local Citroen dealer having had a service and MOT yesterday.
It's a 2014 C4 Picasso Grand Airstream.
The car has a couple of legacy issues that I asked them to have a look at and cost up for me.
First is that the drive side mirror no longer automatically folds in/out when unlocking the car. It needs to be forced manually.
Second is the boot - the problem WAS that intermittently it would hesitate or refuse to open upon pushing the button to open it. Sods law the thing got completely stuck and refused to open just before I took it in yesterday.
Feedback that they gave me and prices are as follows...
"The work for the Boot intermittently opening this requires a new boot module and the labour which is 339.31 for both including Vat
The work for the Side Mirror Not Folding Requires A new unit and the labour which is £593.99"
So over £900 to get these things put right.
I wanted to know / your expertise / your advice on the following...
My father in law is convinced that the mirror can be brought back to life by giving it a simple clean inside.
Hope you can help
Cheers
Ben

- Is there anything I should try to repair/clean myself before getting garage repairs done?
- If the jobs need doing by a garage, is there much to be saved by shopping around?
