Hi folks, just wanted to ask around to see if this is a common issue.
Took my 2011 C4 VTR+ (diesel) to Citroen last week to sort a smelly problem that turned out to be a leak in a pipe connecting to one of the fuel injectors. (Strong diesel smell and little black puddles under the car.)
I bought the car from a Peugeot (yes Peugeot) main dealer back in Feb this year and since it was still under their Gold Warranty I took it to my local Citroen+Peugeot main dealer expecting to be covered. Naturally it turns out they don't cover anything as trivial as a pipe, so I've had a painful bill.
Is this a common problem on this model? Did a quick search and found something about injector seal failure being common, but they seemed to be telling me it was the pipe itself (They replaced all four pipes) - 30 quid in parts, 400 in labour.
Is this something that might reasonably be expected to go wrong on a 5 year old car? I'm not sure I can figure quite what the failure mode would be for a fuel pipe.
