Hi all. Anyone with a C4GP received an urgent recall letter recently? According to the letter the existing control parameters could cause the engine to overheat. By not getting it corrected I am committing an offence? (says VOSA)
Letter wording:
It has been identified that on your Citroën Vehicle, the details of which appear above, the engine electronic cooling management control strategy and the maximum temperature alert threshold could cause the engine to overheat. This could result, in extreme cases, in the failure of the engine. This recall consists of downloading new engine management software in order to modify the cooling management parameters. This precautionary action is considered essential and it will of course be carried out free of charge.
Please contact your chosen dealer's service reception who will be able to book an appointment to carry out this recall and give you further information if required. It would help to have this letter with you when making the call as it contains information they will need.
Should you wish to find a local dealer, please visit our dealer locator at www.citroen.co.uk/find-a-dealer. Alternatively, you can call 0800 0939393 and we will be able to let you know which dealers are nearest to you.
If you have sold the vehicle it would assist us greatly if you would indicate this on the prepaid card below, if possible providing the name and address of the new owner in the spaces provided on the card, and return this card to us.
This safety recall is being conducted according to the code of practice for safety recall operations agreed between the Motor Industry and the Department For Transport (DFT), it is being monitored by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and agency of the Department for Transport.
We regret any inconvenience this recall may cause you but thank you for your cooperation.
Yours sincerely
