ECU or Wiring Fault

Hello All,
I wonder if anyone can help me, or has experienced a similar problem to the one I am facing?
Recently bought a second-hand '64 plate, RH drive, 7-seater C4GP EXC AIR EHDI 1.6.
Have only had the car 2 months when the engine management light has come on. There have been no other issues with it, and no other warning messages displayed.
Since we bought the car, I have noticed that the eco mode rarely kicks in, and since the engine management light came on, the stop/start forcefully disables itself, with an exclamation mark shown in the 'eco off' button.

I connected my Obd2 code reader to the car and it provided the following definitive error messages:

Engine Management
P1AA2 - Internal Electronics Fault
P1694 - Controlled Engine Start and Stop: Starter Control Line Faulty.
P1AA2 - Voltage Retaining Device: Supply Open Circuit or Short Circuit To Earth.

It also displayed a further 21 B and U error codes, all of which are the same relating to Battery Charge Status, BSI and Supply, Protection and Management.
I have searched the web for these additional codes, but can't find them in any database.

Also, the ability of the reader to connect to the ECU seems to be intermittent, as I frequently get communication errors, every other time I attempt to communicate with the ECU.

Can anyone advise whether they think this is likely to be a wiring/loom issue, or more likely to be a problem with the ECU?
The reason I ask is my warranty will cover one, but not the other. I am annoyed that I have only had the car 2 months and it's causing me grief already. Otherwise I completely love the car.

Any advice/suggestions appreciated.

Oh, I forgot to mention, car starts fine every time!
