I had a depollution fault some time ago and put a fuel system cleaner in the tank, that cleared it, then some months later the timing belt broke and valves had pretty much all had to be replaced. Now, 2000 miles later I have a Depolution fault again, also a engine temp fault, the engine temp is fine but then it shoots to the top and tells me to stop as temp too high, it drops after a few seconds back t where it should be.
Fault codes are:
P0117 - Coolant temp too low
U1308 Mitsubishi Data Length Error ID16F !!!
I ran an EGR cleaner through the air intake with no improvement and will try get an fuel cleaner again tomorrow but I'm wondering with two seemingly different faults am I just going to find some dodgy wiring burnt out somewhere?
The garage who did the valves after the belt broke managed to totally rip up the scuttle board padding so it offers little rain protection now, I didn't realise in time to poke them in the ribs over it. But could be getting water in under there.
Any thoughts ?
